February 26, 2014. Fashion’ I hate that word. As far as I’m concerned, to follow the fashion is to be already out of fashion. Why should we adapt ourselves to the current era when we have the choice of being avant-garde or retro-vintage instead? I prefer to think that dress is a means of creating identity for oneself. Dress allows us to open up to other people and transmit our image. Comments… add one now. Previous post: Trend Alert. Mastering the Art of Fashion Designing. From the Sea to my Table.

Clean Eating Things – Week One. April 21, 2013. I didn’t really understand what it meant to eat clean and I still don’t completely understand (so I welcome experts and foodies to share their experiences and knowledge here with me) but what I do know is that there are hormones, pesticides, and other chemicals that we come into contact with in our food that are inevitably ingested by our liver, kidneys, and the rest of our digestive system. Thanksgiving Part I
http://www.theurbangirlscrapbook.ca/thanksgiving-part-i
October 14, 2011. Can it be thanksgiving without turkey? Of course it can but this year there was turkey and lots of it! Since this season seems to be all about trying new things as I embark on a directionless adventure (directionless as an opportunity and positive thing rather than a negative one). I figure by taking the road less traveled I will somehow learn or come upon my destiny. Besides what’s so wrong with being lost, at least for the short-term? Chopping them all up was quite a task!

Frog Pond Adventures

February 2, 2014. Back at home, it was dinner time and I wanted to try a new recipe for Chicken Enchiladas. A lot of the ingredients, specifically the chili peppers and cheese, are not readily available in typical grocery stores here in the Maritimes. So I had to improvise and find substitutes. The Queso Fresco I substituted with Kraft shredded Mexican cheese and the Poblano peppers I substituted with a sweet green and red pepper which did just fine. Comments… add one now. From the Sea to my Table. February 8, 2014. As cliche as this is going to sound, 2014 has motivated me to get healthy again. Aside from the time of my wedding last year, over the past several years I have let myself go from running and eating healthy. So much so that I fear it will take complete and utter commitment (God forbid! As a blogger and foodie, I am a fan of Gweneth Paltrow’s lifestyle blog. And so when I got the weekly goop “ Warming Winter Detox. Why not keep eating clean and healthy for good?
