Religion, Spirituality and Everything Else. The Story of Jacob and Esau. May 7, 2009 at 8:08 pm. I recently read the biblical story of Jacob and Esau and came away with fresh insights. A brief accounting of the story is as follows:. It destroys the person who hates, the most. Not only did Jacob prosper, so did Esau.
