Autumn in New York – The Wandering Kind
http://www.thewanderingkind.co/autumn-in-nyc
Autumn in New York. I’ll be honest with you – I arrived on my holiday to NYC already exhausted. It’d been a busy year (tiny sidenote: I’m so tired of people saying they’re busy. I’m so tired of hearing myself. Say that I’m busy. We’re all busy. Well, it turns out. Not a compulsion that’s easily switched off. So instead of settling back and taking the same images I felt I was always taking, I set myself a few challenges:. Shoot mainly with my iPhone 7 . And I can’t tell you how liberating that was. I’...

You know that thing I said in the last post about how annoyed I was with ‘busy-ness’ and people claiming it as an excuse for everything? I’m totally guilty. And to make matters worse, here I am about to claim it as an excuse. Damnit. You see, we’re in December now, and here I am only just getting around to editing and posting images taken in Finland in August. Whoops (I also have photos from holidays three years ago which I’ve yet to edit – you get the picture). Cue gentle eye roll). Waiting for bears in...

New Zealand – The Wandering Kind

Travels with my mother. The bridge must be just over there, I can hear the water! I said to my Mum, motioning past the thicket of bush just to our right. Yes she answered cheerily, “I’m fine! A smile glossing over her face as she kept her eyes cast downward, concentrating on the sloping shingle pathway as it snaked through the undergrowth. We were on another of our road trips – the second during this trip home – and once again, she’d taken her hearing aids out without telling me. Cool That’d be great.
ASK ME ANYTHING – The Wandering Kind
http://www.thewanderingkind.co/ask-me-anything
I put a little video out on Instagram. Letting people know that they could ask me anything. And so, here we are. Also, I’ll try and put some photographs in here – because otherwise, it’s just a whole lot of words. What’s the hardest challenge for you of working as a freelancer? For example I struggle with managing my schedule and prioritising projects). Ohhh there’s so much about it I find tricky – to say otherwise would just be a bald-faced lie on my part! Am I completely succeeding at this? I don’t ten...

The Wandering Kadings | “All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost. J.R.R. Tolkien. January 6, 2017. Wow Another year has flown by in a flash. I’m not a huge fan of New Year’s resolutions (I mean honestly, I ALWAYS have room to improve)…but I do want to do a tad better job of keeping up with this blog. Hey, I could have totally skipped 2016 but I didn’t, did I? Here is Part 4. I hope everyone had a delightful holiday season. This year has been full of ridiculous blessings, and I am more than ready ...

The Wandering Katt – Living one day at a time, with a coffee.
Living one day at a time, with a coffee. Snorkeling in a Blue Lagoon. Around Boracay and Back. Two Days of Relaxation in Boracay. October 21, 2016. October 21, 2016. If you had to ask me which I prefer summer or winter? My immediate response would be summer. I love the beach, the sand, the sun and the water. I love winter too, but I would definitely rather be enjoying the great outdoors when it’s nice and sunny rather than freezing my off. Still love snowboarding though! Saying Hi to Cebu. Palawan. I...

The Wandering Kind - Travel, photography & the joy of getting lost
It’s no secret that I’m not a huge fan of the British winter. I tend to use those few freezing months over Christmas and the New Year to nip off home to New Zealand – to soak my bones in an Antipodean summer and wrap my arms firmly around my family for at least a few weeks. But, to be a little Pollyanna about the whole thing, there’s also no doubting that wrapping up warm and strolling London in the pea-soupy fog feels decidedly Dickensian, and definitely makes the grey skies way more bearable.
