In downtown Toronto to show some of my recent photos in their back lounge/gallery space. I loved doing this, but important lessons were learned: simple tasks take forever, and framing is bloody expensive. These photos now adorn the walls of my apartment, and they look great. I suppose they're for sale, if you'd like one.

These are the results of feeding Cecilia Giminez's brilliant reimagining of a local fresco of Jesus Christ called "Ecce Homo" into Google's image search and asking it to return visually similar images from across the internet. Her work has a raw humanity that is rarely celebrated on the worldwide scale of this piece. I wanted to see that humanity reflected by our own collective pool of imagery.

Whenever I think I might have a handle on seeing and interpreting things through a lens, I put a roll of colour film in my camera and realize how completely lost I still am in so many ways. The feeling doesn’t really bother me, though: never mastering something means I'll continue to learn in that field until the very end. This is strangely comforting. 38; Pantone 180.
