Molding from a surface (white air dried clay further ideas). Further experiments were made using the samples previously made. The thing that stands out the most are that they are very different to the samples originally made. I particularly like the sweet wrapper, as it can be molded into a shape, and then the lines are embossed revealing the pattern. I like the shine of the paper, but where embossed throws shadows. After the last tutor report I decided to re-evaluate how I work. It was suggested that smaller regular posts should be created on the blog, which has been addressed. Moulding the internal space – Casting from a balloon. Casting with a balloon was a revelation after researching. Felt the possibilities were endless. Taking inspiration from a previous exercise I had decided to wrap a balloon. The Shapes were created by tying rope hessian around the outside of the balloon and left to set. I therefore hoped there would be lots of interesting textiles to see. Unfortunately the majority of them, were away at the cleaners, so I had to satisfy a need for texture, by photographing architecture within the house. The only textile in the building, unfortunately couldn’t get to close to see detail. Plaster ceiling showed some interesting patterns.

I probably could count them but the point is there have been lots of them. But I have never made one myself. A coworker wanted me to make her a t-shirt quilt with all her Blue Cross Blue Shield shirts as a retirement gift to herself. Sure, I can do that.right? I was a bit nervous.
