Graceful Blooming
http://gracefulblooming.blogspot.com/2013/02/well-its-finally-february-and-im.html
Monday, February 4, 2013. Well, it's finally February, and I'm finally getting these pictures up from the "family fest." :) Sadly, I didn't get as many "good" photos or a larger variety showing all the different people involved. But, it still brings back some good memories. :) I'm so thankful for my family and will always appreciate our gatherings (even if we're about to fade out of the "glory days" :). Before the fest really began, most of us went to our cousin's wedding. I got to see BECCA! Aw, "the fo...

Thursday, January 16, 2014. Is this blog still here? Well, since I last was on here much has changed. We welcomed daughter #2 into our family, Elsie Jeralyn. She's a sweet pea, and we love her boat loads. She's starting to smile more and is just picking up the giggling. Nearly every morning she hugs me and then says, "Where's Elsie? I need to see Elsie.". When opening up her Christmas presents on Christmas day she exclaimed, "What is it? So, we've talked it over quite a few times. Now she keeps talki...

Graceful Blooming: November 2012
http://gracefulblooming.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Being able to be home with F is worth. Finding she's gotten into the cupboard and cluttered the kitchen floor with what use to be clean dishes. Trying to cleaning those icky hands and face after each meal while she tries to peel herself away from me. Wiping that runny nose on a body that wants to run away. Fighting those knee stains she gets from crawling around. Smelling and changing all those dirty diapers. Stretch marks that will probably never go away. The labor in prayer.

Friday, August 24, 2012. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I write mostly to remind myself of the promises and purposes of God - finding joy in the life He gives. But, to any who stumble upon this blog, I hope that you find encouragement and that what I write about, whether my thoughts or the daily happenings of a stay-at-home mother and wife, is used to point you to Jesus Christ, the King of all the nations. Graceful Blooming: September 2012

Monday, September 24, 2012. Or "Why didn't I just leave F at home? Then I began to think about how for some mothers this is a common occurrence. This is their "normal." They must be so mature and be filled to the brim with character. No joke. So, while for some this wouldn't be a moment of desperation, for me it was. I was at my wits' end. Oh, and Saturday evening when we got home, Z spotted a new tooth on F's upper gum. Double blessings. :). Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Me: "Hi, I'm Flo.". Last week w...

Graceful Blooming: June 2014
http://gracefulblooming.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 23, 2014. Why is it so fascinating to watch a 6-month-old develop her fine motor skills by trying over and over to grasp a simple thread? Why is being tucked into bed so comforting? Felicity loves to be tucked into bed, and when I do it for her I'm reminded of what a wonderful feeling it is. Sometimes I miss being little, and I hope my little toddler enjoys toddler-hood as much as I remember it. Why do I have a harder time going to sleep if I don't floss? How can attitudes be so contagious?

Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Perhaps, that isn't the way one should view Winter. After all, God perfectly designed it this way. So, maybe we should just be thankful for winter just because it's winter and not because of the things that come from winter. Although, God does to allow some things to remain groaning for a time to show or give something that is even greater. :) Hmmm. What are you thankful for during Winter? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Friday, January 27, 2012. This past Christmas my mother gave me a book entitled A Mother's Wages. Written in 1957 by Elizabeth Walker Strachan, it offers advice to mothers who are seeking their reward from God in raising their children. It contains 31 brief chapters on subjects ranging from conversion to kindness to self-determination to health. I haven't gotten too far into the book, but already am finding the nuggets in these petite passages. I love the story that has been told about Dwight L. Mood...
