Only English children will have to stay in school until 18. Only English children will be deprived of their liberties and their freedom. Apart from the unparalleled beauty of the subject matter, I absolutely love the freedom of being out and about in wonderful places when everyone else is at home and I have them to myself. Finding peace and solitude in usually busy places is good for me. I now have an new lens, a second hand EFS 55-250, which has boosted the magnification I get by over four times. Excellent! Contrary to media reports yesterday of ‘violence’ by UKuncut supporters – a video from inside Fortnum and Mason yesterday shows it was entirely peaceful. What took place inside was merely chanting, singing, dancing and putting up posters. There was minor vandalism outside by others, but not a single UKuncut protest in the past has involved destroying property. 1:16 pm, March 27, 2011.

I know, we look around at the modern world and see that there's the news all around us that we're in the grip of a virulent epidemic of addiction. To booze, to drugs, to sex, to self-harming behaviors of every kind. So it might be difficult to espy good news in this field but good news there is. We're getting much better at drug treatment.
