Rachael, Back From Spain: April 2012

Something to think about. If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present. Sunday, April 15, 2012. How's this for a juxtaposition. I am currently sitting on my balcony, weather as perfect as can be, having just eaten some delicious croquetas, enjoying a glass of wine and the final wafts of azahar. It's okay. I question my own sanity, too. Does anybody ever really know what they want in life? This blog will...

I don't know if this post has a cohesive thought or purpose. Sometimes it's refreshing to hear the older, wiser people in your life reassure you that you're doing alright, and that good things are on the way. even if it's hard to see it at the time. I'm hoping that the reassurances of my elders are true and that good things are, indeed, on the way. Sunday, November 25, 2012. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). We bring home with us when we leave. Sometimes it becomes more acute for the fact of having left. Is it just me, or was Thanksgiving extra big this year? I mean, it's always a big holiday, but for some reason, it felt like an extra big deal. Maybe I was just overcompensating for missing the holiday at home. Set up near the cathedral, and the Christmas lights are going up poco a poco. Or maybe it's just the fact that I have a plane ticket to Pittsburgh for December 18th. Feel guilty for listening to those?

Take more pictures. I have taken a pitiful amount of pictures this year. So, I should probably do something to change that. Learn Spanish. Ok, I guess I do know Spanish. But for some reason, I feel like I know less. Spanish now than I did a year ago. Is that possible? I am blaming it on the Andalusian accent, and on the fact that I almost always speak English these days (probably more the later, but I swear the accent makes a difference, too! Write This includes blogging and journaling. lucky you! And I ...

My old friend Stress makes a visit. Oh Hello, Stress. Have we met? I'm afraid it's just been so long since I've seen you, I must have forgotten what you look like. But don't worry. this week there's no mistaking you. This week, you look like:. A 4-hour English lesson. A fun, but activity-filled week at school. A 2-hour English lesson. Another 2-hour English lesson. Visitors - Past, Present, and Future. Having no food. And eating out for EVERY MEAL. Money - most notably, my lacking it. (See above). But I'...

I would not be upset if you mailed these things to me. Yep I am posting this at the risk of sounding tacky. And yes, I feel like a child writing home from summer camp. But it has been way too long since I've received any mail, (I'm beginning to question whether somebody. Letters. Cute stationary preferred, but not required. Girl Scout Cookies. Still) the best day ever. Lindsay suggested that I share a story about funny mistakes I've made in my second language. There have been many, certainly, but one of my most mortifying language mistakes happened to take place on the Best Day Ever- when Jero Romero played a show in Sevilla. (Disclaimer: This is. Hopefully the most teenybopper post you will ever see on this blog.). I decided to buy a poster from his merch table, which would be the perfect recuerdo. Literally meaning rubber, can also mean cond...

Blogger.com tells me that one person reached my blog by searching google for "sevilla worst nightmare". I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I hope that person found whatever it is they were looking for. :). In other news, dear blog, I just wanted to tell you that I would like to revive you. Or recreate you. I haven't entirely decided which. This is my dilemma - that even a menial task, such as creating a new blog, brings with it philosophical complications that I cannot entirely resolve. 2 of 33 (6%).
