Still, I am amazed at what Jesus did for me! In the middle of Good Friday I pray about my class on Saturday. I get to class at 6:30, there are still things to do. I start talking at 8:00 to the ‘early birds’. These are such good girls. We check in and away we go. I talk, talk, talk, talk, talk,. This is my new job, it is all about talking. About ....

Two years and finishing strong…. Musings about reading, writing, and life. Why the 50-50 gets me going. March 17, 2014. We need to have a 50-50. Split with ELA CCSS, I get it. It is kind of like in our dual language classrooms it starts at 80-20 and then moves to 70-30 and eventually lands in the 50-50. Range in our district. In dual language it means the percentage of the day the students are taught in Spanish vs. English. In these classes we also have a 50-50. Did we like textbook reading? Today I exam...

Waiting Room, SOLC 2015, 27 of 31. March 27, 2015 at 11:55 am ( Uncategorized. Yesterday, in the hospital waiting room (or Family Respite Room, as they call it), I was struck by the co-mingled parallel experiences of its occupants. The room perks up as a nurse or doctor approaches the waiting room – hoping that its news for them. We extend kindness to one another – offering to watch their personal items (computers, clothing, etc.) while they go to eat – we understand that it&#82...And then, one by one, w...

Reflections of a Mommy. A little different than the typical mommy blog! August 7, 2012. I heard her crying out from the next room 2:17 AM. At first, my body couldn’t move because she almost always sleeps through the night. But we aren’t at home. Could she really waking up in the middle of the night? Couldn’t be, but when the crying continued I realized Isabelle was awake. I think I fell back to sleep by 3:30. My alarm went off right at five. It feels as if I barely got any rest last night. Education is all a matter of building bridges. Ralph Ellison. March 11, 2015. I am taking advantage a few, unexpected quiet moments this morning to write…. My new job brings one big change: a commute. I’ve never had to commute very far to my job. As a working mom, we lived in the same district I worked in and my boys went to daycare/school in when they were younger. My husband has had a commute in the past, but he now works from home. So, we’ve switched places in a sense. Too Tired to Write… #SOL15.

https://readerlee.wordpress.com/2015/03/07/solsc-7-a-gift

Educator, Reader and Writer. SOLSC #7 A Gift. We had a guest in our office this week – a Japanese teacher who was working with our Host Nation instructional support person. Last Friday she went to lunch with us and Monday I received this gift. Can you imagine a thank you gift for sitting with someone at lunch? It’s a terrific olfactory reminder to be kind to others and appreciate their company. My obsession at work included several photo sessions. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. March 7, 2015.

Sit in front of the space heater on a cold day. Look at pictures of my family, friends, and travel. 13 Going on 30. I think it’s the music). This entry was posted in Uncategorized.
