Side Trips: IF YOU GO CHASING RABBITS YOU KNOW YOU'RE GONNA FALL

Monday, May 11, 2015. IF YOU GO CHASING RABBITS YOU KNOW YOU'RE GONNA FALL. She was just out for a routine morning walk along the road by the river…. 8230;when suddenly a Black Rabbit ran close by her. There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did she at first think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say, 'Oh dear! I shall be late! But then she blamed that bit of nonsense on the NPR radio station she was listening to and removed her headphones. Posted by Eileen B. May 11, 2015 at 5...

Mommy Needs a Xanax: May 2012

Mommy Needs a Xanax. Because kids show no mercy. Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Moms Never Poop Alone. Even when the kid is nowhere in the vicinity, it's impossible to poop alone. This is what hit me in the chest- the dog, not the kid. As you can see, he's considerably bigger than the kiddo. He's solid, too. It was like someone threw a 90 lb bag of concrete at me. Monday, March 25, 2013. As we prepared for bedtime, the following exchange took place in the bathroom:. Mom, why do I have to brush my teeth? Because if you don't, they'll fall out.". Well I want them to fall out so I can get a gold tooth! Mommy Needs a Xanax. Friday, March 22, 2013. In the dark and rain. Perhaps the stres...

Friday, February 27, 2015. Local squirrels' attempt to rob bird feeder. At least this time.). Note the lookout squirrel in the hedge below. Posted by Eileen B. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. GOING TO THE WELL TOO OFTEN. When I was a child, the drinking water for our home came from a well not far from the house. The pump was in a hole in the ground maybe eight feet square and eight feet deep. The roof of the well was level with the ground. To add to the terror of the well hole, the place was home to spiders.

Saturday, April 4, 2015. AN UNEXPECTED CRAVING FOR A DALMATIAN FUR COAT. What do Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates, Richard Gere and George Clooney have in common? Okay, I’m not talking about their outstanding dramatic skills, but their classy silver hair. They’ve been my inspiration as I’ve considered accepting my greyness. I’m hoping that as my true colors grow out, they’ll blend in to my new ‘do without too much weirdness. Posted by Eileen B. Monday, March 30, 2015. TRICKLE-DOWN TURNS INTO A SHOWER. They dug ...

Tuesday, January 20, 2015. ANOTHER ESCAPE TO HARRIMAN. Cures for cabin fever during long Idaho winters come in many forms. Some of the best involve dressing up warm and just getting out in the snow. Some people carry this to extremes like my dear hubby. He has passed the insanity on to his sons, grandsons and even his sons in law. No, my idea of a fun time in the snow involves cross-country skis or snow shoes and a view like this one of an icy river and swans. By the time I got to the lookout I was looki...

This year marks the 20.

Monday, March 23, 2015. SUICIDE OR JUST BAD ART? Finding socks and gloves along the sidewalk this time of year is not unusual. Litter of all kinds is being revealed by melting snow. Still, a playing card huddled in the grass caught my attention and I stopped to check it out. It was the King of Hearts. Hearts mean love and life; a good omen. But this card is also known as the Suicide King because he appears to be stabbing himself in the head with his sword. Not a good omen. Origin of the Suicide King.
