Things I’ve learned about MySQL slave replication this holiday weekend. An hour before I was going to leave work for the long holiday weekend I broke replication to a MySQL slave database. Go see fireworks? No thanks, I’ve made my own. The first thing I’ve learned is that changing to master host field in a CHANGE MASTER TO command will reset your master log and position values.
