The Miller Family: June 2013
http://millerrubbish.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 14, 2013. So it just hit me that we are moving in two weeks! I've already started some packing, and the walls are bare. It's now sinking in that I am leaving this town and the awesome people I know here. I need to make some memories and take lots more pictures before we leave! Here he is at his end of first grade luau party:. Here is Teslyn on our way to his school. I carried his scooter. And one big tooth has filled in his gap so far. And he insisted we sit outside to enjoy it. A real one&#...

The Miller Family: May 2013

Thursday, May 9, 2013. I took a picture on my way to the temple, then one on my way out, after dark. That was it for southern Idaho. It did snow on us a bit there. How do the kids survive so long in the car? Movies, leapster, ipad, books, and lots and lots of dollar store toys. Fargo was almost 12 hours each way. 24 hour round trip, in a longer weekend this time. There was a bit of cool scenery for a brief part of it. And surprisingly a lot of random sculptures. We were in Fargo for Easter Sunday. Th...

The Miller Family: October 2014

Saturday, February 7, 2015. This sweet, thoughtful, energetic, creative and silly little lady turned 5 in October. I wanted her day to be special so I let her decide how things should go. She wanted a pony pinata and with limited choices in town, we decided to make our own. This is how it turned out. Can you tell it's a pony head? Teslyn has five fingers for turning five years old. She has been working on writing her name and wanted to spell it on her cake as well. She did awesome! Look at that face!

Friday, February 7, 2014. For the long Thanksgiving weekend we decided to head to Utah to be with our families and have Mia blessed. Nick gave a fantastic blessing and it was great to be surrounded by loved ones. Mia was almost 3 months old. Here are a few of my favorite shots. It wasn't too cold in Utah yet and the lights were on at Temple Square in Salt Lake City so we took the kids to see. I didn't know Thanksgiving weekend was such a popular time to go, it was jam packed there! Here is a picture of o...

The Miller Family: November 2014
http://millerrubbish.blogspot.com/2015/02/november-2014.html
Monday, February 9, 2015. I just realized I didn't take a whole of of pictures in November. November is when it really starts getting cold here. Sandpoint is also really foggy fairly often. It used to be a super cool novelty but now we are very used to it. Here is a foggy look into a forested area one chilly morning while I was out on a run. One of the last before the snow showed up. It was our first time hosting Thanksgiving and making the turkey. I would call it a success! Mia has been using her baby b...

Monday, February 23, 2015. This is what our Christmas tree looked like this year. It's not a perfect one but we picked it out and knew it would be a fun one. We liked it. Mia really liked exploring the tree with the lights and pretty things all over it. It made her happy. I took the kids to the Sandpoint Festival of Trees, which benefits Kinderhaven, a home for displaced kids. Our church had a tree decorated there and they did a great job. It was a beautiful evening. We like our holidays to involve a lot...

The Miller Family: August 2013
http://millerrubbish.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 29, 2013. We like Sandpoint enough that we decided to build a home! Nick likes to own, and I like new. We couldn't find anything on the market meeting our family's specifications so we found a floor plan, had it tweaked, and here we are! It's definitely not our dream home, but it will be nice and function well. The kids are excited and have a lot of fun checking out the progress. This silly little girl has a bit too much fun in the dusty dirt and construction scraps. With school starting...

Tuesday, October 29, 2013. On a beautiful fall Sunday a week ago we decided to take the kids on a hike through the woods. They loved it and are asking to go all the time. We will have to before the snow comes! I drive past out new house almost everyday to check on the progress. We will be able to move in either just before or just after Thanksgiving. We are so excited! The weather was perfect! The fall is so beautiful here. And they sat, to reminisce of warmer days in the sun at the beach. We have been t...

Sunday, October 5, 2014. This long winded post summarizes what our August was like. August is a beautiful month in Northern Idaho, where everything is at its peak and plentiful and bounteous. We realize that school will start again the next month so we get really busy having fun and doing all our favorite things for the last few times. The kids loved helping to build the fire. While dinner cooked we also headed to the lake to fish, but didn't catch anything. As usual. As a crawling baby, Mia ...My brothe...

Training teaches you not only how to react, but gives a healthy respect for how quickly things can go wrong. Are pilots making the wrong decisions, or am I just more aware because I am a bit more seasoned? Historically, the best way to determine risk is usually to look at the numbers. I am an engineer by training and with post grad...
