North Dakota Garden: July 2008
http://chrisnd.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 31, 2008. What do you get when you have:. I went out in the garden and discovered little yellow eggs on a dill plant. After returning indoors I felt something crawling on my arm.it was the above creature. Upon returning outside I spotted many sets of ladybug eggs and more than 50 nymphs all over the dill. (Click the photo and you can count a few.). I must be getting more aware of what is in the garden, because I cannot recall seeing the running of the nymphs in the past. Links to this post.

North Dakota Garden: June 2008
http://chrisnd.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 29, 2008. Sunday Safari - Including Dragonflies. I'm doing a Sunday Safari again in an effort to find what insects visit my garden. Last week. I joined Cheryl at My Wildlife Sanctuary. And Sherry at Q's Corner. In a safari. We've had some nice rain lately, but today is calm and could do a walk about. Above isn't the promised dragonflies, but a blue damselfly - there are a number flying around. I was surprised by this dragonfly as I was picking peas.just resting with wet wings from rains.

North Dakota Garden: March 2008
http://chrisnd.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2008. I'm getting anxious to put some early plants in the ground but it's just too soon. Witness my temperature taking device. Poke it in the ground and see how far the frost is. Although in the AM before the sun warms the ground the stick doesn't stick. Just as well, it's not scientific and I don't think it works. I have a link on the sidebar to a Victory Seeds Company page. So what's the bottom line? Links to this post. Friday, March 28, 2008. I am experiencing some déjà vu today.

http://a2projectgrow.blogspot.com/2009/05/more-ideas-for-bringing-in-beneficials.html
Ann Arbor Project Grow. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. More Ideas for Bringing in the Beneficials. Ran this nice article on attracting beneficials. In a recent e-newsletter, and it is well worth sharing. The only thing to keep in mind while perusing the list is that some ornamental grasses, flowers, and herbs can be quite invasive. (Think of the mint or Bishop's Mantle marching undaunted through garden beds and yards and stopping only short of the living room door, and you'll get the idea.) . Project Grow is a...

Ann Arbor Project Grow: If You Want to be Happy Forever, Make a Garden
http://a2projectgrow.blogspot.com/2009/10/if-you-want-to-be-happy-forever-make.html
Ann Arbor Project Grow. Tuesday, October 6, 2009. If You Want to be Happy Forever, Make a Garden. Written by a friend of Project Grow, the following piece tells the story of some of the gardens and gardeners to be found at our Clague site. Transplants themselves, the gardeners have found a taste and feeling of their former homes and histories in their new country. They aren't called "community gardens" for nothing. Large shared plots are. This is a luffa gourd. Like many communities, the Clague gardening...

Ann Arbor Project Grow: Bees Help Foil the Caterpillar Buffet
http://a2projectgrow.blogspot.com/2009/02/bees-help-foil-caterpillar-buffet.html
Ann Arbor Project Grow. Sunday, February 1, 2009. Bees Help Foil the Caterpillar Buffet. A recent study shows that honeybees not only pollinate but also help protect plants from hungry caterpillars. Caterpillars detect the bees, stop munching or simply panic and drop from the plant, which also means they stop munching on your tomatoes, cabbage, peppers, etc. And annuals, or create a specific bed for them.
