Welcome to Vermont Civilian Conservation Corps History! We tell the story of the Vermonters who are the alumni of the CCC from the 1930s. Vermont State Forester Perry Merrill was one of the first in the country to recognize the potential of the CCC. Within weeks of the creation of the program he had enlisted CCC crews to work on projects in Vermont. Eventually, Vermont had one of the greatest number of CCC Camps anywhere in the country.

Alumni of the original CCC. And the modern VYCC. Talk at an Association meeting. Who we are . . . We are the Vermont CCC Alumni Association. We started in the early 1980s when a group of original CCC boys living in Vermont formed a a local chapter of the National Association of CCC Alumni - we're "Chapter 112.". Today the Association welcomes members who are alumni of all conservation corps and youth corps, as well as all people interested in the history of the CCC in Vermont!
