Our regular post meetings continue to be held each month at Weber’s on Jackson Road, Ann Arbor. All members are invited to attend and become active in Post 46 activities. Luncheon meetings are held each month at 11:45 am at the Classic Cup Cafe on Jackson Road. Bring guests. Everyone pays for his/her own lunch and we pick from the open menu. Erwin Prieskorn Scholarship Trust Fund. The Erwin Scholarship Fund has been established by Post 46 to provide scholarships to students enrolled at the University of Michigan who are either:. A) Students enrolled in an ROTC program administered by the U of M; or. B) Student veterans who have served in the U.S. military for 2 or more years; or. Packages for Iraq and Afghanistan. The local chapter of the VVA, Post 310, has scheduled another packing party for troops overseas for Sunday, May 22nd at 3:00 pm at the VFW Post on Wagner Road. The VVA chapter proudly boasts that, in the 8 years since it began this effort for our troops, it has mailed 2,431 packages overseas. Re: Veteran Legal Assistance. Erwin Prieskorn and American Legion Post 46. They were a small but determined group of veterans - led by Pat Walsh, Adolph Wiese and Cornelius Tuomy - who met in late November 1919 in the Washtenaw County Courthouse to organize American Legion Post 46, and they unanimously decided to name their post in honor of a brave young man who had died from battle wounds in the defeat of enemy forces in World War I.
