Voices from the Abyss. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Author Archives: Rachael Prokop. May 3, 2014. Why did the chicken cross the road? Because it didn’t have enough candles to pentacle it. A vampire, a werewolf, and a zombie walk into a bar. The bartender asks. A teen romance novel? The vampire stares at him with dark, soulless eyes. Give me a Bloody Mary. Braaains, orders the zombie. Just a coke, says the werewolf. I’m the designated driver. The bartender sighs. Who’s there? Who are you? | Voices from the Abyss

https://voicesfromtheabyss.wordpress.com/2012/02/07/who-are-you

Voices from the Abyss. Skip to primary content. February 7, 2012. I once read that for every human cell in your body, there are ten bacterial cells. They make up more of your body than you do. Every person you meet is responsible for an unfathomable number of tiny lives, practically a civilization unto his or herself. But they’re brainless, right? Just another (slightly unsettling) part of our bodies? No, they don’t have brains of their own. But they do have one brain yours. How much of you is.

The Dark | Voices from the Abyss

https://voicesfromtheabyss.wordpress.com/2014/05/01/the-dark

Voices from the Abyss. Skip to primary content. May 1, 2014. They say that we know more about the moon than the ocean. And they’re right. There are places that haven’t been discovered by sonar, places under so much pressure that even the most advanced submarine would crumble under the weight. And it is hungry. Starlight | Voices from the Abyss

https://voicesfromtheabyss.wordpress.com/2012/02/27/ligh

Voices from the Abyss. Skip to primary content. February 27, 2012. Look up at the stars. If you watch long enough, you’ll see a light just barely moving across the sky. A high plane, you think, or maybe a satellite. It’s neither. This light was not made by man. It’s much older than that. And it wasn’t made. It was born. Staring at the sun will blind you. Staring at this creature will do the opposite. Don’t let your eyes linger. This entry was posted in Stories. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Nothing | Voices from the Abyss

https://voicesfromtheabyss.wordpress.com/2012/04/10/nothing

Voices from the Abyss. Skip to primary content. April 10, 2012. I don’t know where the stairs lead. Every day I walk a little farther. Every day I turn around. I look down and see darkness. My feet kick up dust that tickles my nose and carries the scent of lives lived and lost. The further I go, the thicker the dust. And the thicker the darkness. The beam of my flashlight wavers and gives up, finding nothing to illuminate. I carry the dust and whisper into the darkness “Not today.”. Create a free website...

Everyday Musings

Sunday, September 6, 2009. Been Gone A While. Can't believe that it has been since January since I have been here. However, I have been doing alot of book reviews, teaching online college courses and taking care of my 5 year-old grandaughter. Voices From Silence - Home

Welcome to the official website for Mary Craig's book, Voices From Silence. Mary Craig is a distinguished writer, journalist and broadcaster. Many of her books share a common theme of the examination of spirituality in the post war world. These include a biography of Pope John Paul the Second and an examination of the Solidarity movement in Poland. Her account of life in contemporary Tibet, and biographies of the Dalai Lama and his family have been widely praised. But she is probably best known for.

Voices From the Suburbs

Voices From the Suburbs. Share your experience of living in the suburbs. Friday, September 3, 2010. Discovering the Beauty of a Ranch. Seven years ago, my husband and I bought a modest home in the Edgemont neighborhood of Provo. When we purchased the home, it was clear to us that we paid for the neighborhood, not the house. But we were both employed at Brigham Young University and had no desire to get on I-15 to commute to work. No, we wanted to put down roots. But what about the house? Took as a slur&#4...

February 26, 2017. Voices from the Backseat

Voices from the Backseat. Saturday, January 11, 2014. Long time, no see. Well, I have taken a wee bit of a break, haven't I? Honestly, I really enjoyed writing my blog while it was happening but once you get out of the routine, it's hard to get back into the routine. So here I am.trying it again. I just re-read all of the posts from before and how cool! It literally is a time capsule of what was going on in my life at the time. And my memory STINKS so any reminders are very helpful. Haha! My kids are big!
