Photos from Foulkeways and spots beyond. Friday, September 28, 2012. Yesterday a resident alerted me to a confrontation that was taking place in "E" courtyard. I hurried up there, but by the time I arrived this young red-tailed hawk was sitting on a chimney. In a nearby tree, this squirrel was chewing him out. I suspect that there had been an unsuccessful hunt due to the hawk's immaturity. But as he grows and matures he will take a few squirrels in the future. Friday, September 28, 2012. A neighbor called to say that they had a small bird using their old wreath. There were two eggs in the nest encirled by the ribbon. It is probably a titmouse, though I did not see the bird. Got a call from a resident who said she saw a small bird using this hole. I haven't seen it used yet, have you? Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

Photos from Foulkeways and spots beyond. Sunday, November 11, 2012. How do they know it is Sunday? I spotted some deer in the meadow, but they saw me first. The buck was already gone. They must have walked right under this tree stand, where the hunters might be any other day, but not on Sunday. There were deer tracks in the mud on the Maris Trail.
