We Are Storytellers: Chris
http://wearestorytellersorg.blogspot.com/2013/06/chris.html
Wednesday, June 5, 2013. I previously worked with Chris when I did a group storytelling session. Since then, I’ve done art with him countless times, and really come to know his style. Chris always stays after class to wash out the brushes and palettes, so I’ve come to know his personality, too! I was excited to try writing with him again because we had a good jumping off point: what his dream superpowers would be. Today, however, Chris was working with colored pencils. I noticed he chose entirely dif...
We Are Storytellers: April 2013

Wednesday, April 24, 2013. I found Teaching Montessori in the Home. By Elizabeth G. Hainstock. And checked it out. The book was first published in 1968, so it's a little out of date, but can teaching styles really grow stale? All I wanted was some background to develop a general understanding of the method. Since this book is to help parents implement montessori teaching in their own home, I figured it'd have some good example activities to help me understand how it works. The child is given a free choic...

Wednesday, February 27, 2013. When I designed the logo for this project's blog and Twitter account, I also whipped up some stickers. I thought I could get them printed on matte paper so they could function as bookplates. We have a book signing. Moo.com. Had exactly what I was picturing, on sale to boot! I don't really have an "end" in sight for this project (um, never? Links to this post. Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Chapter Two - Clifton. And he said "He's cute.". Links to this post. We Are Storytellers: May 2013

Wednesday, May 29, 2013. I want to spotlight a great local organization this week - Volunteer Odyssey. I’m lucky to have worked alongside many of these people when they came to SRVS, but that’s just a tiny piece of it. The whole project has a much broader scope. Sarah Petschonek quit her job in Fall 2012 and volunteered at 30 different Memphis organizations in 30 days, blogging about the entire experience. The Volunteer Odyssey participants who have come to SRVS have been high quality, caring people....

How I Feel About Books: August 2015
http://www.howifeelaboutbooks.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 27, 2015. My First Storytime with SRVS! The backstory behind my library program for adults with disabilities is explained here. Two weeks ago today, on August 13, 2015, I held my first library program for two classes of adults with disabilities from SRVS! I was pretty nervous because my experience of reading aloud is limited to my one-year-old. I picked two books I really loved because I knew I'd be comfortable reading them aloud. Bonus: both books are really. How I Feel About Books.
How I Feel About Books: About
http://www.howifeelaboutbooks.com/p/about.html
Hi, I'm Allison, and I'd like to share How I Feel About Books! I created this blog for my Fall 2014 class LS5603 Literature for Children and Young Adults, as a graduate student in the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University. My concentration is library services for children and young adults. I've previously volunteered and worked in a learning center for adults with disabilities. While I was there, I started a program called We Are Storytellers. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
