Dusk is falling, and inside every window a light is lit, warm and yellow compared to the cold gray twilight outside. Everyone is shut in their houses for the night, doing homework, eating dinner, watching TV, and just relaxing at home. The long summer nights are but a memory; its six o’clock and already dark! It is late on a chilly fall day, and winter is on its way. In the early years...

My grandfather once told me that up until age 21 life went slowly. After that, he said, it was one big blur. One minute you’re a wide-eyed kid with your whole life ahead of you, the next you’re an 80-year-old man eating dinner at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. She said. I was three years old! Not that I know anything about that.

Oh My! | The Bridge Online
https://thebridge15009.wordpress.com/oh-my
Goes the voice. OOOch! Says the voice. The frog’s ears are killing her. Yeowzer! Cries the words that smack and reverberate amongst her piteous hollows. The frog crouches low, as usual, legs green and elbowed. Her webbed forearms stout upon delicate-fingered hands. The lily-pad wobbles as the echoes of verbaceous oooches ripple beneath her and within her. OOOyaka! Stand firm under the moon! Can it hear me? And the shock again of that presumptuous vociferation overtakes her! Jump in the water! As both leg...

Of gray cut marble,. Carved in cold relief,. Roll in and roll away. Adorns a grassy hillside. With fluttering VFW flags,. Outside, cars pass by. The wrought iron fence. Forged by steel, fueled by coal. Surveys the enduring river. That drifts by accounts receivable. Through Penn’s Woods,. A safe harbor for the Liberty Bell. Across the deep blue Atlantic. Spoke of generations to Europe,. A century turns here,. To these swaddling hills. Man With Tool Belt. Where are you going. Man with tool belt. Hope is so...

Summer 2010 →. April 15, 2010 · 5:58 pm. Valentine J. Brkich. As you travel northbound on Route 65, it appears off in the distance as you pass the East Rochester bridge. A dark behemoth. A mountain of black iron rising above the Ohio River, spanning the water between Bridgewater and Monaca. Here’s a few interesting facts about this amazing structure:. The bridge was built 33 years after the railroad was founded in 1877. The current bridge was the third to be built at this crossing. The shoes of the main ...
