What's fer supper?

Thursday, February 19, 2015. Whether you want to call it the Year of the Sheep. Or Goat or Ram (or, for that matter, Year of the Gazelle, apparently true to some translations), the Lunar New Year is again upon us. To celebrate, we had a feast of dim sum. Treats, most of which were from the freezer section of our local Asian produce market. We also had a bowl stir-fried vegies (bamboo shoots, mushrooms and baby bok choi) so there'd be something homemade. Gung hay fat choi! Friday, March 29, 2013. Today, b...

What's fer supper?: May 2011

http://whatsfersupper.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Yet another wild combo-nation. Now that we're here in the midst of lake perch country, what do we eat but ocean perch. That's the fish that conveniently happened to be in the freezer, and with the weather being blustery and winterish, I knew that this was an oven night - yet again. A spinach 'souffle', one that - by the time we ate - had absolutely no puff to it at all. But still, it was rich and delicious. Monday, May 30, 2011. We've spent the last few days at a condo with (still ...

What's fer supper?: September 2009

http://whatsfersupper.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. I suppose followers of this blog must sometimes wonder about how often we have pasta. My reply? I've always considered it one of the major food groups (along with chocolate and ice cream). Yet again, it's the mooshed-up avocado for sauce, but the pasta's not our usual whole wheat or multigrain. Salad, of course. And with luck, maybe one of those other important food groups for dessert. Tuesday, September 29, 2009. A recipe for sunshine. Monday, September 28, 2009. This morn...

What's fer supper?: March 2011

http://whatsfersupper.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 31, 2011. Because we didn't have a hook-up for water again tonight, it was another of those times when I didn't want to use the cast iron skillet (too hard to clean up without easy H2O access). But my mouth was set on some Homer Simpson pork chops. With sides of frozen peas and instant mashed potatoes (the kind with garlic), the tradition endured. And oh, how good the mix was - swirling all those peas into the creamy potatoes! Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Stir-fry in the oven. After spendin...

What's fer supper?: March 2013

http://whatsfersupper.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 29, 2013. One a penny, two a penny. Tomorrow we fly, so tonight’s supper sees us relying on takeaway food. Because today is a holiday (Good Friday), nearly everything is closed, or at least closed early. The fish came from a shop that closed up at 1, and by the time we got there, the ones we got were two of the last four they had. Today, because it’s Good Friday (which seems to be observed by just about everyone here), the accompaniment was hot cross buns. Although, apparently dangerous.

out on the big limb: February 2015

http://outonthebiglimb.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Out on the big limb. Warning: this is one of those blogs that goes all over the place. Poems, politics, gripes, praise. A little of everything from an avowed generalist. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Turns out that yesterday was International Polar Bear Day. If it weren't for those video news blats the Internet providers love to insert, I'd never have even known it. And I somehow doubt that many others would have either. To the poem below, expressing some of my concerns about this mysterious creature.

Out on the big limb. Warning: this is one of those blogs that goes all over the place. Poems, politics, gripes, praise. A little of everything from an avowed generalist. Sunday, June 28, 2015. The Way of the Raspberry (and other berries). Picking raspberries allows one the time to do nothing more than look and move one's hand. Such simple, repetitive motions - hand to berry, to bucket, to bush again - allow time for contemplation, almost meditation. Would say, futile. Already, so many berries have gone i...

Out on the big limb. Warning: this is one of those blogs that goes all over the place. Poems, politics, gripes, praise. A little of everything from an avowed generalist. Thursday, July 23, 2015. The House that Birdie Built. We have a bird living with us this summer. Earlier, she tried building a nest on a ledge in the gazebo, but that one didn't work out. This time she's taken up lodging in behind a potted begonia. I can only surmise that Birdie must have been watching decorator shows on tv. 03 August &#...

Out on the big limb. Warning: this is one of those blogs that goes all over the place. Poems, politics, gripes, praise. A little of everything from an avowed generalist. Sunday, April 26, 2015. I'm afraid that's where I've been this month, especially in terms of this poor little blog - off the rails. Off in too many directions, doing workshops, attending readings and art openings - all good things, but lacking in focus. Links to this post. Wednesday, April 01, 2015. Because April is National Poetry Month.

Out on the big limb. Warning: this is one of those blogs that goes all over the place. Poems, politics, gripes, praise. A little of everything from an avowed generalist. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. I've been staring at this autumny tree, trying to take in some of its calmness. It's been kind of a crazy month - not one to complain about - nearly all of it happy-making, culminating in this weekend's Word Vancouver. Still, I'm ready for a less hectic time. Links to this post. And they call it the 'safe' way? I've always wondered why they call our supermarket the Safeway. And for most of this winter, it's been even more puzzling. When I've gone so far as to suggest one of them just go back into the store and bring an alternate supply to the front, they've replied that they couldn't do...

Out on the big limb. Warning: this is one of those blogs that goes all over the place. Poems, politics, gripes, praise. A little of everything from an avowed generalist. Tuesday, August 04, 2015. Not that kind of poetic feet. The feet with the beautiful blue toenails belong to poet Sandy Shreve. She's just released a new book of poems, Waiting for the Albatross. So what have her feet got to do with anything? I suppose it would have been more fun to have a video of those expressive feet in action, but som...

Out on the big limb. Warning: this is one of those blogs that goes all over the place. Poems, politics, gripes, praise. A little of everything from an avowed generalist. Wednesday, July 01, 2015. O Canada (on Canada Day). If you're not sure who Louis Riel. Was, click on his name for a one-minute history lesson. Sadly, a lot of those words - especially the ones about government - are just as true now as they were then. Although I'm one who considers him a hero, not everyone does. Out on the big limb. Warning: this is one of those blogs that goes all over the place. Poems, politics, gripes, praise. A little of everything from an avowed generalist. Wednesday, July 08, 2015. How early is too early? Not long ago, I noticed that the blackberries were starting to ripen. It was just an isolated few, but whoa - that's no longer the case. They're over a month early, but try telling that to them. They just keep ripening and ripening, so I just keep picking. I remember your jam fondly.

Mot de passe :. J'ai oublié mon mot de passe. La mode de chez nous. Elégance. Mode. Style. Beauté. Classe. Chic. Allure. Marques. Esthétique. Originalité. Apparence.

Look do dia: Laís. E aqui vão as referências do look:.
