A story that can keep my attention, affect my emotions, and make me believe the characters are my friends is a keeper in my book ( no pun intended. I also love to be able to write about the books I read. That's why I'm so excited to be writing this today because the books I'm writing about are jam packed with many such stories. My Posts at The Barn Door. Saturday, July 19, 2014. Snakes in the Garden. Have you ever walked out into your garden, or any garden for that matter, and come upon a snake? That's enough to give your heart palpatations! You know, a snake (serpent) is what the devil disguised himself as in the Garden of Eden when he pulled one over on Eve, and then Adam (. Isn't that just like an enemy? Disguise himself as something else in order to trick you into thinking or acting a certain way, or to get you to mess up.

http://www.shelleywilburn.org/2015_03_01_archive.html
My Posts at The Barn Door. Monday, March 30, 2015. Who Do You Think You Are? We are often so bogged down with everyday life that we often forget who we are. More importantly we often forget Who's we are. I recently discovered exactly who I am. When my eyes were opened it was like turning on the lights in a dim room. My Posts at The Barn Door. Thursday, June 11, 2015. Which Do You Choose; Scary or Safe? The things worth doing in life are often the things that scare us the most." Jeff Goins, Writer and Author of The Art of Work. How many times have you found yourself standing on a precipice, with a decision to either step out and go for it (whatever "it" is), or step back and be safe? How often have you held back because of fear? It's easier to be safe instead of scared, right? What if someone didn't like what I write?

My Posts at The Barn Door. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Even Through the Phone Lines. I love to pray for people. Watching as they receive a touch from the Lord, or even healing is such an exciting moment. Yet sometimes I struggle with when and where to pray. I've struggled in the past with praying for myself. I didn't feel worthy to talk to God about my own issues, so how could I ask Him to help someone else? But God is so wonderful and merciful! Could God hear my prayer for the person on the other end?

My Posts at The Barn Door. Thursday, October 16, 2014. There many people, even friends of mine, who have been or are suffering with anxiety and depression. It breaks my heart, especially when I hear them say, "It runs in my family,". Or "I just deal with it and battle it every day, hoping for the best.".
