GEORGETOWN WINEPATH CLUB

Sunday, May 15, 2011. Friday Night Tastings, May 13, 2010. 1Ridge, 2007, Santa Cruz, CA.- good, spicy, ripe fruit but a bit acidic to our taste. Had the smokey feel which often is the characteristic of this winery. A 2.5. 2 Charles Smith, Chateau Smith, Columbia Valley, Washington state. An ok wine, not overwhelming. A bit "grapey" finish. A 2.0. We had several small dishes, such as crab cake, manchego and goat cheeses and lots of excellent olives. We had two additional and familiar wines (see below).

Saturday, February 26, 2011. FRIDAY NIGHT TASTINGS, FEBRUARY 25, 2011. Saturday, February 5, 2011. FRIDAY NIGHT TASTINGS, FEBRUARY 4, 2011. Edgewood 2007 cab, a 2. Nice fruity nose. A bit thin, but not bad. This wine was completely different from the Harlan 1996 (see below). We all thought that it was better, as well. I don't think that you can describe the taste of this wine: you'd have to experience it. Harlan 1996, 4. Bucella, 2005 3. Lewis, Syrah 2006 3 to 4. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Harlan 1996, 4.

Saturday, January 30, 2010. Wine tasting on January 29, 2010. Present were all core members including Winepath, Jimmy, Piroca, Uncle-N and Uncle-E. Uncle-OZ made another guest appearance. Courtesy of Winepath, we started with a mini-vertical (actually it is also horizontal since vineyards are different) tasting of FERRARI-CARANO's new winery "Prevail" cabs which were not blind tasted. The remaining 5 wines were blind tasted. 1 Prevail West face 2004 and Prevail Back Forty 2003. And " Back Forty. Beyond t...

Saturday, February 13, 2010. Wine tasting after the snow storms on 2-12-2010. 1 John Duval Entity Barossa valley Shiraz 2006. Color is nice dark garnet. Nose has herbs, and faint cracked black pepper. Palate is loaded with fruit, black fruit, raspberry laced with coffee and chocolate leading to firm but nicely integrated tannin with a long citrus finish. Definitely New World but this one tasted more like California Syrha than Aussie shiraz. John Duval Wines Entity Barossa Valley Shiraz 2006. Color is dar...

GEORGETOWN WINEPATH CLUB: Penfold's Shiraz, St Henri 2005

http://winepath.blogspot.com/2011/05/penfolds-shiraz-st-henri-2005.html

Sunday, May 15, 2011. Penfold's Shiraz, St Henri 2005. This wine is considered a cult wine. Very dark, smooth, but with some arrogance-this is not a very shiraz-like wine. In fact it can pass for a cab. Very nice and reasonably priced. We thought a 3. It was unfortunate that it came after the Shafer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What is the difference between polyphenols and tannins? WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS IS FALSE? The term Veraison is:. Cabernet Sauvignon is a cross between:.

Wine Patriot | The Reds, the Whites, and the Brews

The Reds, the Whites, and the Brews. SANFORD FLEUR DU DOMAINE 2009 – SANTA YNEZ VALLEY. July 6, 2013. Santa Ynez Valley is what I called God’s Country. It is beautiful, tranquil, and is what I believe to be the perfect climate. If I were a grape, this is where I would want to be! Perhaps that’s why they named one of the canyons in the area popular for sourcing many grapes, “Happy Canyon”. The spices in the wine and the pairing with turkey make this an ideal wine for Thanksgiving Dinner! May 10, 2013.
