X-Pilot is a charter vessel working mainly in the rivers Medway and Swale in Kent and the Thames Estuary and also rivers in Essex in the Southeast of England. X-Pilot is a 72 ton ex pilot vessel. Built in the year 1967 she worked at Gravesend along with her sister ship the River Thames, and as a pilot vessel she was expected to endure the harshest of conditions. She is 62 feet long and reliably stable. A Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) is also available upon request. The RIB was custom built by a company that supplies the Coastguard with their patrol vessels. It's simplicity itself to lower her into the water! Then it's just a case of swinging her over the side.

The Thames Sea Forts are the last in a long history of British Marine Defences. The Army Anti Aircraft forts have played a significant role in post World War 2 developments.
