A nationally representative study of adolescents in grades 7 12 found that lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth were more than twice as likely to have attempted suicide as their heterosexual peers. Here are some common signs of depression:. Frequent vague, non-specific physical complaints such as headaches, muscle aches, stomach-aches or tiredness. Youth may have a hard time dealing with grief or loss - it may be felt more deeply than in adulthood and can leave a youth feeling as though their world is upside-down.
