Yummy Montana: Columbia Falls market
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2009/09/columbia-falls-market.html
Thursday, September 10, 2009. Columbia Falls has a large, happy market. There are two grassy areas, each with its own music stage. People really enjoy this community experience, as evidenced by children dancing, plates piled high with food on picnic tables, and a general sense of fun and well-being. While you are buying your produce, you can learn to make lotus blossoms. It's easy to spend the whole evening at this friendly market. June 18 - September 17. Thursday, 5pm - 7:30 pm. Montana, United States.

Yummy Montana: Boulder, Helena, Townsend markets
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2009/06/boulder-helena-townsend-farmers-markets.html
Saturday, June 27, 2009. Boulder, Helena, Townsend markets. Today I drove a 400-mile loop to visit 3 farmers markets. Whew! It was a big contrast to see Helena's market, which covers a large space between two small parks. Here are some pictorial highlights. Early season produce piled high. Products like this local honey were in abundance. Even pets could find a treat or two. Plenty of foot-tapping entertainment. And lots of pretty girls - these from the Queen City Ballet school. June 6 - September 5.

Yummy Montana: Winter market
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2010/02/winter-market.html
Saturday, February 13, 2010. The farmers market season is short in Montana, and any sign of fresh local produce is a welcome one. The Bozeman Winter Farmers Market fills the gap. It all happens in the Emerson Center. Inside you will find a variety of winter produce (such as potatoes, onions, garlic), along with other interesting and unusual food items. There is Claudia's Salsa. And of course: chocolate! Bozeman is lucky to have La Chatelaine Chocolat. Oh, so very lucky! Is to encourage these artists, and...

Yummy Montana: Blue skies in Big Sky
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2010/08/blue-skies-in-big-sky.html
Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Blue skies in Big Sky. It was a beautiful sunny day for the afternoon farmers market in Big Sky. During winter, this resort area is swarming with energetic skiiers and snowboarders, but in summer, a lazy kind of insouciance predominates. There are plenty of energetic hikers enjoying numerous trails, but by the time they reach the market, they slow down. Boy (helping his mom buy beef and pointing to photo of cow grazing on ranchland): I want that one. If you like art, you'll se...

Yummy Montana: Arlee market -- small but vibrant
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2010/07/arlee-market-small-but-vibrant.html
Friday, July 30, 2010. Arlee market - small but vibrant. I've passed through Arlee many times, heading north and south to and from Missoula, but I never knew exactly where it was. As you travel throughout Montana, you will find this is a frequent experience. Where is Two Dot? It's that tavern.) Where is Cushman? It must be that, er, building in the middle of the field.) Etc. Small as it is, this market offers some solid reasons to visit. Indulge in sweets from Chocolate Eclipse. A truly gourmet experience.

Yummy Montana: Darby market
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2009/09/darby-market.html
Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Darby is a small town in the Bitterroot Valley, south of Missoula. It's a perfect base for camping or fishing, and its Old West facade makes shopping enjoyable. Stroll down those wooden sidewalks and recall the not-so-distant past. The Darby farmers market is on the main street in a park tucked in next to the museum. It's a charming and tranquil location. You'll find the usual local vegetables. May 12 - October 13. Tuesday, 3 pm - 7 pm. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Yummy Montana: Billings, Roundup markets
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2009/07/billings-roundup-markets.html
Saturday, July 25, 2009. Billings, Roundup markets. The drive to Roundup was flat and tree-lined. It's definitely cow country, but a different sort than elsewhere in the state. Roundup itself is a pleasant, nondescript town, but when I saw the sign proclaiming "Flea Market" pointing toward my destination, my heart dropped. On to Billings. I visited the Billings Farmers market last fall, but since it was on the way home from Roundup, I stopped in again today. Billings is the big city in these parts; the b...

Yummy Montana: Virginia City farmers market
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2015/06/virginia-city-farmers-market.html
Saturday, June 13, 2015. Virginia City farmers market. Most folks visit Virginia City to ride the stagecoach, explore Boot Hill, and stroll down a street that was once crowded with gold miners in and out of luck. But I recommend that you plan to be there on the second or fourth Saturday of the month so you can enjoy the tiny but vibrant farmers market. There are scones and cookies, perhaps a pie, along with handmade jams like the intriguing and tasty garlic and onion. May 23 - September 5. In this blog, ...

Yummy Montana: Bozeman (Gallatin Valley) market
http://yummymontana.blogspot.com/2009/08/bozeman-gallatin-valley-market.html
Saturday, August 1, 2009. Bozeman (Gallatin Valley) market. Located at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, the Bozeman Gallatin Valley Farmers Market overflows from inside the Haynes Pavilion to the area outside. Both areas are packed with so many delightful offerings that it would take a very long blog entry indeed to list them all, let alone show photos. Here are a few photo highlights. This produce comes from a Montana State University garden project. Need I say more? Of course, this is Montana! Find a c...
