Flat nose in China. Chengdu Secondhand Crafts Bazaar →. November 29, 2007 · 2:57 pm. Jane Goodall in Chengdu, plus: thoughts on sustainability messaging in China. The moral of the story is clear. If Old Man, despite horrible mistreatment by humans for many years, had the capacity to forgive and act to save the life of a man, shouldn’t we, with our supposedly superior capacity for empathy, be able to do the same for other animals, and the environment at large? This feeling grew stronger during the Questio...

The Space Between Us. Maandag 17 maart 2008.

The Space Between Us. Zondag 13 juli 2008. Geplaatst door Sid and Sophie.

Cate-o-rin: March 2009
http://cateinjapan.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Just a little blonde girl. Monday, March 9, 2009. The most recent and most drastic change that has occurred during my time in Japan is moving house. In the beginning of this year, I was finally forced to face the impending equivalent of a $100 rent increase. At my (sob) old guest house, the usual policy is to give new residents a 12-month rent discount. After 12 months, their rent goes "back to the original price.". Here's a sample of the artwork that covered the walls of Big World 21. Ok, so the social ...

Metro Environmental Blog: August 2008

Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Lee sent this along to me, and I thought I'd share. It's famed evolutionary ecologist Richard Dawkins reading the hate mail he gets from Creationists. This clip's audio straddles the line between Safe for Work and Not Safe for Work, so I'd turn the speakers down a bit before viewing. It blows my mind that people could not realize evolution to be the truth. If the Catholic Church can reconcile evolution with faith why can't these people? Links to this post. How to Get There.

Metro Environmental Blog: Why So Hot, So Soon?
http://nyenviro.blogspot.com/2010/04/why-so-hot-so-soon.html
Thursday, April 8, 2010. Why So Hot, So Soon? Newark and Hartford have exceeded 90 and unofficial reports from Orange County suggested temperatures of 94! But why and how? Well it has to do with trees, or in this case a lack there of. Trees do two things that tend to reduce surface temperatures, first they reflect radiation and shade the surface and secondly they are a driver in evapo-transpiration. Let me explain. Another interesting effect to note on the above temperature map is the influence of the co...

The Space Between Us. Zondag 30 december 2007. Pkomend fenomeen waarmee we onlangs in aanraking. Eerde vertegenwoordi...
