Truckpoetry - Cameron's Garden Journal

9679; Writing Journal. 9679; Brew Journal. 9679; Garden Journal. Tuesday, August 21, 2012. I mean really confused. A few times in the past week, water droplets started falling out of the sky and landing all around us. Last Saturday, in fact, the water fell out of the sky so fast that it was creating puddles and lakes around us. What is this plague that is happening? Why is the sky spitting upon us so? In all seriousness, the rain has been good. The backyard is greening up. Posted by Cameron Mathews.

Truckpoetry - Cameron's Garden Journal: Turnips!

http://gardenjournal.truckpoetry.net/2012/04/turnips.html

9679; Writing Journal. 9679; Brew Journal. 9679; Garden Journal. Monday, April 2, 2012. Anyway, after clearing the turnips and chunking the largest ones into the trash, we picked and cleaned up several of the more moderately sized turnips. Peeled them, then Meredith diced and boiled them to mix with some potatoes in mashers (we froze about half of them as this was still a LOT of turnips). Onward to Spring plants and planting! It's the best time for gardens! Posted by Cameron Mathews.

9679; Writing Journal. 9679; Brew Journal. 9679; Garden Journal. Monday, August 13, 2012. Bottled up the cider Sunday, half sweetened/half dry, which leaves me with only one empty case of bottles, but another problem - four empty carboys. I am not sure I'm going to pull off another 20 gallon brew day again, but I could very well pull off 15. We will see how it goes. In the meantime, what are you brewing? Posted by Cameron Mathews. Actually two things. But I will do them simultaneously. And, weather permitting, I'll try them tomorrow. The other experiment that I am going to do is to split the batch and use two yeast strains. So basically, I will end up with two different beers, but with some very similar characteristics. What am I making?

9679; Writing Journal. 9679; Brew Journal. 9679; Garden Journal. Monday, April 6, 2015. Color of the Day. Grey day, hazy day,. Fog lifted yards above the ground. The light filtered, slightly green. Brightens new spring growth. Muting all the reds. The morning drags with hint of rain. Through to the afternoon. When finally the burning sun. Illuminates the ground below. Finally the solar exit. Lunar time has come. With reflected day light. Comes silver brightness on a window. All else in blue-black shadow.

Home - The Seed Garden Journal

The Seed Garden Journal : The Story. Garden Journal started as a personal desire to learn how to garden. I moved from the high rises of Vancouver, BC to the local farmland of South Surrey. I began by eating local and in season as well as researching how to plan for the winter. The following year I sourced local seed companies and learned that we are blessed with the best climate to grow food all year. Soon quinoa, rhubarb, bergamont, and chocolate mint shared the common space along with the tree frogs.
