Saturday, June 2, 2007. And here is our favorite dessert - the dessert by which all others are measured. It is from Sardi's Restaurant in New York City and we had it 40 years ago. As far as we know it is still on the menu. It is four stars! 188; t. cream of tartar. 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate. 3 c heavy cream. 1 pint fresh strawberries. Melt chocolate with 3 T. water over hot water. Cool slightly. Whip cream – add 1/3 c. sugar and beat until very stiff. Slice strawberries leaving some whole for garnish.

Monday, May 14, 2007. Apple Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce. Serves 8 - 10. 2 T butter, softened. 1 12 oz. day old French bread. 4 apples, peeled, cored and cut in chunks. 1/4 - 1/2 c. bourbon. Sauce: Melt 8 T. butter (cut in bits) over hot boiling water. combine the sugar and egg and add to butter.
