Vivé Griffith: May 2007
http://vivegriffith.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Hamburgers on Hard Rolls. Saturday, May 19, 2007. Every Saturday afternoon my grandmother's friends would come over to play bridge. Norma would drive, ferrying Evelyn and Lydia to the house on Savoy Street. And every Saturday afternoon they would have hamburgers on hard rolls with Bermuda onions. In the meantime, my grandmother played bridge. We were close to Oatman and famished. Wednesday, May 09, 2007. Forgive me, but that line keeps coming back to me - Close to Oatman, Close to Oatman, Close to Oatman.

Vivé Griffith: Soup and Bread
http://vivegriffith.blogspot.com/2010/11/soup-and-bread.html
Saturday, November 27, 2010. Ask me what's the perfect symbol of a soulful life, and I'll tell you soup and bread. Bread, soup, maybe wine and salad, a friend or loved one across the table. It hardly gets better. That decision caused life to unfold in a way that landed me here, in Austin, Texas, married to a man who gets me well enough to buy me The Bread Bible and a soup cookbook for Christmas.). Soup was made with the Rancho Gordo. The soaked beans were cooked with some veggies and herbs and lemon rind...

124; Comments RSS. We’re back…. Olivier’s restauant Vaughans pub, Terenure. Artisan Bread and Bakers. Posted on May 16, 2008. Cafe Mao started its life in Chatham Street where it carved out a niche serving really good reasonably priced Asian fusion food. Then it closed for unfortunate reasons and when it re-opened, it had thankfully lost none of it’s oomph. There is now a Mao in the Dundrum Shopping Centre just beside the water feature, which literally springs. Download the Cafe Mao Menu.

Vivé Griffith: Eats
http://vivegriffith.blogspot.com/p/eats.html
And the questions it carries: Is food nourishment? A system for conveying nutrients to a body governed by science? A connection to the past? Are the decisions we make about food critical to our well-being, or ultimately negligible? In these pieces, I will consider food from the many angles in plays in my own life and those around me. And I’ll share some of the bounty of what’s been made in my kitchen, the one I occupy now with its checkered yellow tiles and big red pots on the stove. Read more about me.

Vivé Griffith: February 2007
http://vivegriffith.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 16, 2007. I woke early. Grabbed some fleece. Flipped on the space heater in the kitchen. Retrieved the Christmas panettone from the sink, a half loaf that had been frozen and had defrosted overnight. When they were up, I served Chris and Annabella some panettone French toast, dusted with powdered sugar, garnished with a few orange slices, warmed maple syrup in a pitcher on the table. Happy Valentine's Day. Read more about me. What We Eat and Why (Edible Austin). Weeks in This Country.
