KNITTINGDAD

Monday, 27 August 2007. Sunday, 6 May 2007. A jumper for Billy, new son of our friends Steve and Ruth in Crewe. I started knitting on the day he was born and he's now a little over 3 weeks, so let's hope it fits him! Saturday, 21 April 2007. Jasmine asked if she could wear it to school as soon as it was finished. Fortunately it just fits her! Saturday, 14 April 2007. However, with my wife's help we got it finished, minus pocket and sleeves, and I am not disheartened. It was a good steep learning curv...

KNITTINGDAD: FIRST COMPLETED KNIT

http://knittingdad.blogspot.com/2007/04/first-completed-knit.html

Saturday, 14 April 2007. The hood doesn't fit - probably as a 7 year old's head is bigger than that of a 2 year old. I knitted up the optional sleeves only to find they didn't fit the armholes, and by this time I was ready to build a funeral pyre in the back garden, on which to throw the knitting and the magazine. 14 April 2007 at 14:47. Your first effort looks really excellent. And altering the pattern to suit is called designing :-p. 15 April 2007 at 16:14. Hey congratulations on your first knit! One o...

Shut up, I'm counting. Sunday, September 06, 2015. Summer Yarn Hot Fun. Best Quote I Heard All Day. 8220;To me, the raveled sleeve of care is never more painlessly knitted up than in an evening alone in a chair snug yet copious, with a good light and an easily held little volume sloppily printed and bound in inexpensive paper. I do not ask much of it - which is just as well, for that is all I get.". Yes, my beloved Dorothy Parker was a knitter. Read her biography here. Sock It To You Big Heat. I love wri...

Viernes, 22 de febrero de 2013. An ode to Black Yarn. A while ago, a cousin asked for a phone cozy, he's cool and this would be the first knitted thing he asks, so I said "sure, which colors do you want? Then he said the most awful words someone can say to a knitter IMO: " just one, black". The moment those words left my cousin's mouth I felt the urge to gulp down a hole bottle of vodka, to grow claws and maim him, and running all the way to Peru, all at the same time. Fucking. Blob. of DOOM. Mostly beca...

July 17, 2015 · 6:00 am. Even more baby booties! If there’s one thing I knit more than any other, it has to be baby booties (I think baby hats are a close second). A lot of friends and family–us included–have been having kids recently. It’s a very exciting time :). These pink booties were for my coworker’s beautiful newborn girl. The yarn is the rest of the skein I had used for my first niece. In 2012, which I’d been saving. It’s a caper sock yarn from String Theory. Here’s a photo from then. Certain err...

There was even a rainbow after the game. The next day we headed North to explore. We went to Bay of Islands. And spent a lovely morning in Russell. Where we had breakfast (including flat whites.
