All week I've been waking up early to go into work. This morning I was greeted by the first frost of the year. My treat from last year's trip to Rhinebeck).

Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Clothing tags provide provenance. But more importantly they aid in navigation. When getting dressed the starting point is always the tag,. Back of the neck, back of the waist. With hand made clothing the lack of a tag results in. A fumbling about, situate the arms now line up the shoulders…. Until I can decide on a font, color, size for my future oakworm tags. I have pulled scraps of fabric out of my stash. And stitched them onto the back neck line of my sweaters. Effortless fro...

Thursday, November 28, 2013. Happy Thanksgiving to all. There is so much to be grateful for…. Sunday, November 24, 2013. Cold, cold cold…the wind pushed at my back as I walked a new trail. Berries shivered and milkweed flew from my hand, the tip of my nose cold. As I braced myself for the walk back to the trail head. Saturday night the first snow squall swirled off the rooftops,. Melting on my up turned face…and then it was gone. All that was missing, a campfire and a dog. Wednesday, November 20, 2013.

Sunday, September 29, 2013. Yesterday was the beginning of a week's vacation for me. A week with no commitments.a week just for me. I spent Saturday sorting through my art supplies. And straightening up my drawing table. It took 6 hours and two large garbage bags! Sophie is thrown out of sorts when I move things around,. But she also loves to adventure through the re-arranged spaces. Besides, it's good to shake up our little world once in a while. Maybe a day trip to the city? With a beaded picot edge.

Sunday, July 28, 2013. Luray caverns, va. Although a bit blurry, this reminds me of a classic tourist photo! On the drive back form NC my brother and I detoured to Luray Caverns. I'm known for my call of "brown sign! Brown signs are used to denote places of historic interest or natural beauty). The tour takes about an hour and the path is a mile and a quarter long. The Dream Lake is only 20" deep but the still, clear water renders. It almost invisible as it reflects the stalactites hanging from above.

Friday, August 30, 2013. It may be hot and humid outside. But the trees know the season is soon to change. Plump acorns hang from the oak tree,. They crunch under foot as I walk to my car in the morning. My work schedule is still intense but I am able to knit. A few rows of the pink elbow length gloves each night. Wednesday, August 28, 2013. This morning the rain was so heavy that local radio announced. Storm drains that blew off their manhole covers and flooded the streets. Sunday, August 25, 2013.
