We walked across the rocky riverbed to get to the ancient city. Dave on a terrace overlooking an ancient adobe village on a hill side. This old settlement has been used in lots of movies. Especially the Jesus movies. We walked across a wide dried up river bed to go climb into the old city. It is a UN Historic Landmark w/ official status and all.

Really sad. No clean-up in sight when we were there. We were told that some men show up at high tide and remove some oil from the sand manually w/ shovels and then tide goes out after they are gone leaving most of the oil. This is one of our mold patterns , it is a very complicated one. On the floor are the tiles that Daniel is making for us. He is almost done with the tiles for the order. Of course, they always sit in my yard for at least a week (usually two or three) before I get around to planting them. Lowe's had NO begonias. How can that be? I was inspired to make banana nut waffles, but the guys are a little burned out on waffles and it's just as well - it would've been too much for my miniscule kitchen counters. They have two employees blogging very occasionally (every 2 or 3 weeks). Maybe I'll start a blog there! For now, I'll do my best - I'll try to be the tortoise - slow and steady.

Saturday, April 19, 2008. Bon Voyage to Me! This will be my last Saturday morning waffle-making/blogging sessions for a few weeks! There was nothing remotely close to us before (except Ridgeway 4 and it mostly shows indy movies and one or two blockbusters). I still have a million things to do, but am feeling better about leaving. Got lots of cash at the bank. We can use credit cards, but I think the exchange rate's not good that way. I was in Boston in April 2006 for PubCon and spotted these handsome mosaics on the two sides of Whiskey's Bar on the Corner of Boylston and Gloucester near the Hynes Convention Center and the Backbay Area.
