Follow us into the devastation wreaked by Katrina. Sunday, January 21, 2007. It’s been a week since I returned and I’ve been in a reflective mood. This is who you are. Is this who you want to be? Never before in my life have I been able to answer ‘Yes’ as fiercely as I was when I was in Biloxi. This is totally how I've been feeling. Wonderfully stated. Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!

Follow us into the devastation wreaked by Katrina. Friday, January 12, 2007. Last night we experienced Southern Hospitality and learned the meaning of the term “comfort food” in a way that only red beans and rice, chicked and dumplings, Creole, and Gumbo can demonstrate, as Noelle’s cousin in nearby Gulfport hosted us for dinner. It was an amazing meal with the nicest people you can imagine. I couldn’t resist filling my plate. And I polished it all off. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Follow us into the devastation wreaked by Katrina. Saturday, January 13, 2007. Well, here we are at a bar at the Gulfport/Biloxi Airport about 18 hours ahead of our scheduled departure. During lunch today we noticed that all sorts of weather problems were wreaking havoc at Dallas/Ft. Worth and thought, "Hm.maybe we should look into that.". We made it. And it turns out our plane is delayed so now we're waiting. This has been an absolutely amazing experience and this is a strangely appropriate way to end it.

Rebuilding the Gulf Coast. I spent 3 weeks in 2007 and 2008 volunteering in the Gulf Coast. This blog originally documented 2 of those trips to New Orleans. It now lives on as a place I continue to process the state of NOLA post-K. Wednesday, January 30, 2008. There are a lot of really amazing posts that the team has been adding to the Seattle Works blog. I just read Susanna's and it moved me. As did Bryan's the other night. Wednesday, January 30, 2008. It now lives on as a place I continue to process the state of NOLA post-K. Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Powerful blog post/National Geographic Feature. First, I want to draw your attention to some text from a NOLA blogger. Second, a feature article in the National Geographic. Is it a futile attempt? To go down there and try to make a difference?
