Notes from a day dream believer

Notes from a day dream believer. It does not do well to dwell on dreams. Sunday, 26 July 2015. So I have a confession. I've been running from this blog for several weeks. By that I mean I've been avoiding it, because I knew that in my next post I'd have to mention graduation (after all, my time at university, and leading up to it has been a constant theme during the past four years of this blog! Because how do I communicate to my family what the past three years in college have meant to me? Which is prob...

Notes from a day dream believer: What She Did Next, April - June 2014

http://www.notesfromadaydreambeliever.blogspot.com/2014/06/what-she-did-next-april-june-2014.html

Notes from a day dream believer. It does not do well to dwell on dreams. Tuesday, 24 June 2014. What She Did Next, April - June 2014. View from the Old Bodelian library, towards the Radcliffe Camera. Upper floor reading room, my favourite place to work, probably. I confess that I've stolen many of these photos (but not all of them! From my Facebook. I just don't have that many good photos of Oxford, and in a city this beautiful, there's a limit to what you can physically photograph in a single term!

Notes from a day dream believer: March 2014

Notes from a day dream believer. It does not do well to dwell on dreams. Monday, 31 March 2014. What She Did, January - March 2014. The Radcliffe Camera, also the History Faculty library, and where I seem to spend a good deal of my waking life in Oxford. Actually, it's a really fun day, especially at my college where people make their own costumes and have photos taken in fancy dress as well as formal. In addition, you get a great meal in the evening - see below! Everyone's favourite members of college.

Notes from a day dream believer. It does not do well to dwell on dreams. Monday, 16 March 2015. First post of 2015! You're never too old for a birthday cake. Ok, so I feel pretty bad that it's taken me until mid-March to post this year. I think that I always intended to post at some point in January, but then I was behind with coursework, hurried back to university, and literally didn't really stop until Friday when term ended and I handed in my undergraduate thesis! Who knows where I'll be turning 22.

Notes from a day dream believer. It does not do well to dwell on dreams. Friday, 12 September 2014. All Roads Lead to Rome, well, except this one - Italy 2014. Over three years ago now I visited Venice for the first time. I even wrote a blog post about it; http:/ notesfromadaydreambeliever.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/venice-summer-2011.html. Yet so much has changed, When I went to Venice the first time, it really was one of the last "family" holidays I went on, and it felt like it. I was (and still am! Just k...

notes from a cricket tragic

Notes from a cricket tragic. Saturday, April 4, 2009. Get away you pesky ball. Being a cricket lover in this country is like being a devout Muslim in Alabama. You spend your life in a permanent state of outrage, surrounded by the infidels, barbarity and blasphemy of your native land. But no: I am, inescapably, a fourth generation Newzillinder, destined to spend my eternity in cricketing Hell. McIntosh c Y Singh b Khan 32. Guptill b Khan 17. Flynn c Dhoni b Khan 2. Notes from Across the Pond | Observations of life on the right and left sides of the Atlantic

Notes from Across the Pond. Observations of life on the right and left sides of the Atlantic. Alabama Says “No” to Moore…. December 13, 2017. However, while this is great news for Democrats, it is far too soon for them to become complacent about the 2018 mid-term elections. The hurdle for Democrats reclaiming the Senate has been lowered considerably, but it will still be a challenge. It was good to see Steve Bannon get a black eye, but it was hardly a knockout punch for the pugilistic Mr. Bannon....The f...

Notes from a Daughter – on the other side of rebellion

Notes from a Daughter. So, ladies, I think we live in a world that is super quick to tell you, “You’re not good ENOUGH, you’re not doing ENOUGH, You are not Enough.”…BLAH… BLAH… BLAH! My hope is to just offer a little encouragement. Raising kids is hard enough, and raising girls can throw a whole other level of crazy in your life, I DO know that! I brought a whole slew of it to my parents… Who am I kidding? But now, its on the other side of rebellion. Notes from a Daughter. WordPress theme by Glowline.

Princess Diaries

Thursday, April 12, 2012. It's just a ball of cells. It's not even a baby. This child will never have any kind of quality of life. These are some excuses that women use to justify an abortion. They use these excuses because they don't want to admit to what they are really about to do. {murder their unborn child}. Young girls (and even women) sometimes don't realize how traumatic an abortion will be on them. You have to live the rest of your life knowing that it is because of you that your unborn chil...

Notes from a Defeatist. Saturday, November 09, 2013. Morty and Me: Appartment House perform Patterns in a Chromatic Field at the Purcell Room. Patterns in a Chromatic Field. Was the second piece by Morton Feldman I ever heard, and it remains one of my favourites. The first time I encountered it was in Huddersfield. In 1996, in a late-night concert straight after the one that featured the first Feldman piece I'd ever heard, For Samuel Beckett. Is only the second time I've heard it live. It's a more delibe...

Notes from a Devon Village

Monday, October 25, 2010. Not in the mood lately. Just haven't been in the mood to post to this blog lately. I think it's because here is where I loved to write about life with Amy and Ben . and of course now it's just Ben and I. Amy has left such an enormous hole in our lives I think we're still trying to come to terms with her absence. We're feeling like this! I took Ben up to Start Point last week - we walked all the way round which Amy hadn't been able to do for a very long time. In fact she adored s...

notes from a dog walker

Meet the Dog Walker. DINOS: Dogs in Need of Space. What’s a DINOS? Grab a DINOS Badge! To Birdie, With Love. Birdie died this year. We made the decision to let our sweet old girl go on April 4th. Birdie had kidney disease for months, but in the final week of March the disease finally began taking its toll on her little 15 year old body. We didn’t want her to suffer, so we said goodbye. Just a month before that, our cat Gus died suddenly of congestive heart failure. Thank you for letting me share my life ...
