The significance of March 11 is the fundamental questions it asks of all of us. The first for me is: What right do I have to claim to be so changed by a disaster that didn’t take any of my own flesh and blood? The primary and never-ending question the earthquake asks of all who have felt it is instinctive: Fight or flight?
