Quilting Bebbs

Monday, September 29, 2014. There may not have been much blogging. But there has been quite a lot of stitching. Three of my work colleagues had new babies over the summer. Hetty's quilt for the new daughter of our Year 2 teacher and his wife. Jonah's quilt for the new son of our Year 5 teacher. And Joshua's quilt for the little boy born to our Year 4 teacher. Elliott's quilt to take to Sheffield where he's studying Chemistry. Zach's quilt to take to Swansea where he's studying Economics. I had the blocks...

Quilting Bebbs: August 2013

http://quiltingbebbs.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 24, 2013. It's been a busy old summer. And I can't believe how long it is since I posted. A bit of stitching going on in and amongst work and family things. A baby quilt for some friends and their new daughter is an old one I finished up for her. Then my cousin had her little girl Poppy - she received two quilts, why give one when you can give two. A big one which will eventually sit on a single bed if she wants. And a smaller one which she's already using as a floor mat. And he and I to...

Quilting Bebbs: I've been...............

http://quiltingbebbs.blogspot.com/2014/03/ive-been.html

Wednesday, March 19, 2014. A busy old bee here at Chez Bebbs. As I said in my last post all those new babies need quilts. So a stitching I will go. The three babies of work colleagues are to be two little blue versions and one little pink. So the first quilt I'd started was a pink version. This cute owl fabric was the starting point. And a not quite enough of the lighter pink meant a rethink and the centre blocks sport a deeper pink to match the other owls. All well and good until I spoke to the Teaching...

Quilting Bebbs: May 2014

http://quiltingbebbs.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 30, 2014. Sarah was home for a few days last weekend. Since she graduated and started work on the other side of the country last year we get precious little time with her. So this weekend was extra special. She drove home on the Friday night and as he had a gig with his band on the Saturday night her boyfriend James followed her on the train on Sunday morning. They then stayed with us until their return to Essex on the Tuesday evening. So what's a girl - or girls - to do. I don't think she's ...

Quilting Bebbs: January 2014

http://quiltingbebbs.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 25, 2014. But precious little tangible progress to show you. That's the way it is with hexagons. Especially when they only measure one inch from point to point. Lots of Liberty Tana Lawn. In a glorious variety of colours. Makes for some very random fabric combinations. My only criteria for the lozenge blocks in this quilt is to have a contrast between the inner round and outer round in each diamond. I'm on the homeward strait now. Only 21 more diamonds to stitch I think. Twelve squares ...

Quilting Bebbs: Making progress...............

http://quiltingbebbs.blogspot.com/2014/03/making-progress.html

Wednesday, March 26, 2014. I'm usually quite speedy with hand applique. I use the freezer paper on top method where you iron on your shape in freezer paper, iron it onto your fabric, cut it out with a scant 1/4 inch seam allowance, tack it onto your background and then needle turn it stitching as you go - Simple! It's the first one I was taught, it works for me and I thoroughly enjoy doing it. But for some reason progress seems to be rather slow on this piece of work. Ok I'm away to applique some more.

Amy's Adventures in Blogland: August 2008

http://amysalbum.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Amy's Adventures in Blogland. Dorothy asked: Was the 15 mile round trip out beyond (west of) the Clinton end of your trip? I didn't go any further west than the LQS in Clinton. I'll give you a freebie, too - I didn't go any further east than Millburn/Short Hills. It was definitely south. Kathie suggested: how about a farmers market? Not that either, although this store does. Promote its connections to local agri-businesses. Links to this post. Kathie tried again: Budding Star in Lebanon? Clever, aren't I?

Amy's Adventures in Blogland: July 2008

http://amysalbum.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Amy's Adventures in Blogland. No, I didn't get to spend the day with Rachael Ray. Just had a yummy dinner last night ;). Today was the last day for one of my team members, so a bunch of us from work treated her to a fun dinner last night at a rodizio. Restaurant. Have you ever been to one? It's an interesting experience (and Ireally don't mean "interesting"! Way too easy to overeat. Nonetheless, most of what I had was great (the chicken, especially), and it was fun. Links to this post. Saturday, February 01, 2014. Oh, it isn't bad- good enough for me. Now, if I could only work up the inspiration to clean my bedroom. Id say thats pretty progress . especially while youre sick. Remember - there is no such thing as JUST a cold. Take care of you. XOXO mom. Sorry to hear you are under the weather. The wall quilt is oh so nice. The bird blocks are my favorite part of the quilt followed by the basket quilt. And the colors are right up my alley. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Monday, February 03, 2014. L-R: Abe, Mary, Jacob, William, Kim, Paul, Nines, John, Dan, Eva, Bekah. Minus two. Sigh. The bigger our family grows, the more difficult it is for all of them to come together at the same time. But I do enjoy any time that any of them are around and, while being all together is very nice, I'll be very happy and content whichever way the winds blow. The ones that are missing in body are certainly present in all our hearts! BEAUTIFL people. Plumb Through! View my complete profile.

Friday, February 08, 2013. One of my latest doilies. What 13 hours of sleep will do for a girl. Tired Feeling a whole lot better, today. I despise running. Going here, then there, and back to hither and yon. I just wanna stay home and do laundry, cook, sweep floors and sew! Busy like that doesn't wear me out like the running does. Well, yeah, by the look of these pictures, it may seem like I've been sewing. But this is the sum total of over a month of sewing and that's just not near enough!
