Shadylanefarms: Autumn Green
http://shadylanefarm.blogspot.com/2012/08/autumn-green.html
Thursday, August 09, 2012. So we estimate Autumn Green should emerge on August 21. Yesterday I gently took him out of the container and cleaned it out, then slowly put him back in. It's hard to believe that tiny thread he has himself hanging from supports him. This is his picture from yesterday. What happened to the threads that were holding the head portion of the chrysalis to the stick as show in the last photo of your Aug 05 post? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Shadylanefarms: My Turn
http://shadylanefarm.blogspot.com/2012/08/my-turn.html
Sunday, August 05, 2012. I was totally amazed with Joanne's monarch butterflies and now I have the luxury of having my own caterpillar. Yesterday at the cottage Andrew and I found the most spectacular looking caterpillar just chilling on the arm of one of the chairs. This morning Autumn Green got his new branch and some fresh leaves. Let me add he really poops a lot for a little caterpillar. Eastern Swallowtails are common but I have never seen the caterpillar. Lucky you. View my complete profile. 2013 H...

Shadylanefarms: Wrong Calculation
http://shadylanefarm.blogspot.com/2012/08/wrong-calculation.html
Saturday, August 25, 2012. There is a good chance the chrysalis wont hatch this summer. Swallowtails overwinter in the chrysalis stage. Last summer I had 4 chrysalises that I overwintered. First in a fridge until the weather was cold enough to put them out in a shed. In the spring I moved them into a cage in the backyard and they all hatched in early May. Ready to start the next generation. Swallowtails typically have 2 broods a year, May and July. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Kapsch Class Case.

Shadylanefarms: 1/2 Marathon
http://shadylanefarm.blogspot.com/2012/10/12-marahon.html
Sunday, October 14, 2012. Today Melissa and I ran the Blue Mt. 1/2 Marathon and had a fantastic time. Yup, right before the run started, the skies opened up and we were wet but that didn't deter our spirits or any of the others. Here we are just hanging around waiting to start. Well we were going to be running Andrew and John were going cycling. At the final 1 km mark, we had to go through a tunnel and we were ankle deep in water by the time we were at the other side our ankles and feet were frozen.
