Because this building is almost complete and we had already paid instead of tearing it down we are making it into a shed (making it legal for the distance). Unfortunately we still have to build the animals shelter and this means lots of clearing in the forest and more fencing.to the tune of approx $12,000 more! Tuesday, June 28, 2011. News, news and more news. Lets see where do I start? Back in May we had started construction on a new house for the calf's(steers) and sheep. Our neighbour decided he did not like it and put in a complaint. This started the ball rolling and has led to so much red tape it is unbelievable! Wednesday, December 22, 2010. I am writing this a day early because I know what a mess I will be tomorrow. Little Puggles (chi/pug) is very old (estimated to be about 14-16 yrs old). Puggles came to us in November of 2009 via a rescue we know. Puggles was brought in from the USA (Ohio) and came from a life of breeding in a puppy mill. Sunday, August 28, 2011. I looked at the blog and realized I have not posted anything for 2 months! My how time flies! The summer is coming to an end, but much was accomplished these past few months. The buildings are complete.just need some final touches and the sheep (Timmy/Tommy) and steers (Ashli/Norman) can move in! Tuesday, February 15, 2011. This past weekend was filled with anti fur demos across Canada. There were 3 in the Toronto area. I attended the one on Saturday outside Holt Renfrew at Bay and Bloor. It was a great turnout , between 60-70 people! Lots of great signs and literature handed out. My only hope is that people will listen! This year has seen such an influx of fur products. I can only hope this "trend" will pass quickly. If they walk away, so be it.at least YOU tried! Snooters Links of Interest.

Sunday, August 05, 2012. I was totally amazed with Joanne's monarch butterflies and now I have the luxury of having my own caterpillar. Yesterday at the cottage Andrew and I found the most spectacular looking caterpillar just chilling on the arm of one of the chairs. This morning Autumn Green got his new branch and some fresh leaves. Saturday, August 25, 2012. There is a good chance the chrysalis wont hatch this summer. Swallowtails overwinter in the chrysalis stage. Last summer I had 4 chrysalises that I overwintered. First in a fridge until the weather was cold enough to put them out in a shed. In the spring I moved them into a cage in the backyard and they all hatched in early May. Sunday, October 14, 2012. Today Melissa and I ran the Blue Mt. 1/2 Marathon and had a fantastic time. Yup, right before the run started, the skies opened up and we were wet but that didn't deter our spirits or any of the others. Here we are just hanging around waiting to start. Well we were going to be running Andrew and John were going cycling. At the final 1 km mark, we had to go through a tunnel and we were ankle deep in water by the time we were at the other side our ankles and feet were frozen.
