Stitchin' Therapy

Tutorial Design a Watercolor Quilt. Get Your Mrs. Claus On Project. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. I have been whining again about the ironing board dilemma. I hate setting it up, shifting it around, moving it into the hall for space.and on and on. I see those wonderful ironing set ups on Pinterest. And I am so envious. Why can't I figure out how to squeeze one into my sewing room? I know it took more energy too clean the area off than to pull out the ironing board. But I had a purpose now. And before you ask...

Stitchin' Therapy: Label your quilts

http://stitchintherapy.blogspot.com/p/label-your-quilts.html

Tutorial Design a Watercolor Quilt. Why should you label your quilt? I always name my quilts and create a label for them with details of inspiration, the pattern used, and who it is for. Why? This is my art form and I put a lot of effort and work into each quilt. They need to be signed, even when I give them away. Besides, I enjoy designing the label as an extra bit of art. This is from a mystery quilt,. Sherlock I am Not. I did an unusual setting for this label. It is from. My favorite quilt. I did ...

Stitchin' Therapy: July wrap-up

http://stitchintherapy.blogspot.com/2015/08/july-wrap-up.html

Tutorial Design a Watercolor Quilt. Saturday, August 1, 2015. July is a wrap.with some finishes! That's a good thing. The small block Carolina Chain was done in floral fabrics with batik accent squares. The border was any leftover small pieces framed with a dark batik. I love the striking effect it created along with the center shimmer. The rail fence variation was pieced and bordered.finally. It's up for quilting next month. August 1, 2015 at 5:24 PM. A very productive July. August 1, 2015 at 9:41 PM.

http://stitchintherapy.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-friday-find.html

Tutorial Design a Watercolor Quilt. Friday, August 7, 2015. It's August, and time for thoughts to turn to fall. Yes! I know I am ready for cooler days. Bread baking to follow, and bringing out the seasonal decor. So when this little fellow popped up on my screen, I immediately followed the link from FaveQuilts to SewCanShe blog. Wouldn't this guy be cute on a tote bag, or table runner? Lots of possibilities for this one! August 7, 2015 at 8:05 AM. August 7, 2015 at 11:10 PM. This little guy is so cute!

Stitchin' Therapy: Just yard work.....

http://stitchintherapy.blogspot.com/2015/05/just-yard-work.html

Tutorial Design a Watercolor Quilt. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. After fighting the weeds in the beds, I have had no energy to sew. After cutting back bushes that are way over grown, I have not felt like cutting fabric. I did not mean to stay away so long, but some things must be tackled before the heat wave arrives.and stays. Don't forget the Blogger's Quilt festival is still going on. It is time to nominate your favorites. Then the voting begins next week. May 19, 2015 at 10:40 AM. May 20, 2015 at 1:57 AM.

Welcome to my cottage where I play and create with fabric, paints and anything else that comes to mind. I hope you enjoy the visit and return again soon! Thursday, January 8, 2015. Well, I took a couple of weeks off because of Christmas and New Year and when I walked back into my studio the other day I saw this. My embroidery thread was all over the floor. The racks that were hanging on a peg board were broken and stuck behind my embroidery machine and table. My intention this year is to put this thread ...

I hope that she will look at all these pictures and remember the good times our family had. I love looking at these pictures, especially of my dad, since he passed 6 yrs ago. Elizabeth's Quilt Projects: April 2015

http://elizabethsquiltprojects.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Quilt Projects for 2013. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Saw this comic on Facebook recently. Yesterday morning was perfect. I took advantage of the rainy morning yesterday and sewed. I have made good progress on the dogwood blooms. In the directions Annette recommends stitching the curves after sewing the blocks all together. I do not want to manipulate a large quilt top to stitch the curves so I have been stitching the bloom curves for each block. They now look more like blooms. Sunday, April 26, 2015. Which...

Elizabeth's Quilt Projects: August 2015

http://elizabethsquiltprojects.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Quilt Projects for 2013. Saturday, August 29, 2015. Playing with Scraps ( aka Crumbs). My Stack the Deck. Quilt top is together and waiting to be sandwiched for quilting. I had a pile of scraps left from the trimming of the blocks. You know I can’t throw those away and most are also too large to be put in pet beds. I started sewing pieces together, then found some block units that have very similar fabrics and decided to use them. I like the crumb blocks better than the Stack the Deck blocks. To celebrat...

Elizabeth's Quilt Projects: 2013-14 UFO Challenge

http://elizabethsquiltprojects.blogspot.com/p/2013-14-ufo-challenge.html

Quilt Projects for 2013. For Greater Columbia Quilters' UFO Challenge following is my list of UFO projects. The order of my list does not indicate the order that I plan to finish them. Q) indicates quilt tops that only need quilting. If I worked on finishing them first, I would get very tired of quilting. I prefer alternating quilting with piecing. I hope to avoid the temptation to start a new quilting project for at least a couple of months. Red, Black, white Lone Star (Q). Blue and white orphans.

Stitch in the Night. It's my favorite hobby. Stitch in the night is going to be full of information for the cross-stitcher. Thursday, December 1, 2011. Soluble vs Waste Canvas. The soluble canvas comes in one count, 14 count, so you may see some size variation depending on what your original pattern is. Again if you have a pattern that was originated on a 28 count stitched over two threads you can get away with using a 14 count stitched over one thread and come out with relatively the same size.
