Friday, May 29, 2015. This is Morty the dog. He was a much beloved dog, before his untimely passing from cancer. A friend of mine shared this photo with me, saying it was a friend's dog. He added that he loved this photo, as it showed Morty facing bravely into the wind, stalwart and unflappable. Well, his spirit was unflappable. His fur was madly flapping. I found I immediately thought of Lionel Jeffries as King Pelinore in the musical film version of Camelot. His whiskers had that same wild abandon.

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Meldee with her recent crop. Beets are a highly nutritious root vegetable, but I know some people don't like them. They are good plain and pickled, boiled or roasted. My only problem with beets is that I tend to get the red juice all over myself when eating them, no matter how hard I try not to. Yes I know. It's a personal problem. Forgive me for over-sharing. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. I suppose this is old news now, but we have a new Bishopric in the Whittier Pickering Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Rodriguez was released a few months ago, and Barclay Prescott was called to serve. Our congregation is so blessed. We had a wonderful Bishop, and the new Bishop is a terrific guy as well. Monday, April 9, 2012. I am NOT spoiled. There is no better place to take an afternoon nap than in mom's quilt. Besides I can sleep in my own bed anytime. This is the first quilt I had made and on cold nights I use it to snuggle up with when I am watching TV. The quilt on the right is a baby quilt that I am trying to finish for my cousin and sometimes Mischief thinks it is fun to lay on when I am sewing the binding on. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Sorry it has been a while. I had a lot of projects given to me to sew. These blocks connected to the top blocks and made it look like it was linked together. These blocks were at the top of the rows. These are pictures from the quilt called "Chain Link" It was the first quilt that I sewed on point. It turned out to be a good recipe. We made the sandwiches with it but didn't use the the creamy chipotle sauce. My husband didn't want to try it. It even taste better when it had a day to set in the juices. I have found a few more recipes that I might try from this blog. Ive heard of this recipe before, I want to try it now!
