Prayer Request… – stillwell story
https://stillwellstory.wordpress.com/2016/07/19/prayer-request
Short on sleep – big on dreams. July 19, 2016. I know what you’re thinking…this isn’t the Stillwell family! And where are pictures and updates of Eli? That’s what this blog is for, right? Dave and I whole-heartedly believe that our faith in God and prayer, from YOU, the hundreds of friends and family around the world, were the main reasons Eli did so well throughout pregnancy, at birth, through surgery, and in recovery. Therefore, I am coming before you all with a prayer request. I am asking…no, I ...

Short on sleep – big on dreams. Eli’s “Newborn” Photo Session. July 29, 2016. We finally have our act together enough to post these photos my sister Beth took during Eli’s first week home. These images are a huge blessing to us and a reminder of the amazing gift we have been given – a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Surgery scar and right chest tube scab above…healing nicely! We remain thankful for so much! July 27, 2016. July 27, 2016. July 19, 2016. And where are pictures and updates of Eli? You’re ...

Short on sleep – big on dreams. Eli – Day 17. May 30, 2016. May 30, 2016. Little man is doing great! In rounds they commented that he’s taking 60% of his feedings by mouth as of the last 24hrs. However, he lost some weight overnight. I’m going to blame the weight loss on our night nurse who is a high school rowing coach. Her team just made it to nationals as of this weekend! Rest of feedings today have gone well. He’s taken something by mouth every time and has essentially plateaued from yester...And we ...

Amniotic Fluid in normal range the last two ultrasounds! 🙂 Baby was head down and all snuggled up today, not wanting to budge from sleep for any cute pictures. March 22, 2016. March 24, 2016. To say the doctors were fantastic and exceeded our expectations of specialists is an understatement. They sat for nearly 1.5 hours relaying their thoughts, listening to our questions, and relating to our concerns. We have our big c...

Short on sleep – big on dreams. Eli – Day 11 (Family Day). May 24, 2016. May 24, 2016. On Saturday, I headed back to Cincinnati with the kids to see Mommy and Eli. Emmie wasn’t a fan of the restrictions of being in the NICU very long. She hung out with Grandma Karla while the “big kids” had a turn to hold their little brother. They can’t wait for Eli to come home. 🙂. My dad also held him for the first time. And so did I. 🙂. Eli – 9 & 10. Day 12 – Focus On Feeding. May 24, 2016 at 10:19 pm. You are comm...

Short on sleep – big on dreams. Eli – Day 15. May 27, 2016. May 27, 2016. Today we are weaning from hi-flo oxygen to 1L wall oxygen (lower flow) and will watch how he tolerates his feedings as he learns to coordinate his breathing, sucking, and swallowing. We are decreasing his morphine to every 12hrs and hoping to be off in the next 48hrs. We’ll change it to PO (by mouth) so we can then discontinue his PICC line! One more line down, bud! Eli – Day 13 and 14 – Introducing Oral Feeding. Eli – Day 16.

April 2016 – stillwell story

Short on sleep – big on dreams. April 20, 2016. Expanding The Family Band. April 19, 2016. April 21, 2016. One of our favorite family activities is playing music together. We recently packed up our instruments and headed down to North Beach (our church’s student ministry building) for a special jam session to introduce our newest band member. We’ve been wondering whether we will add more depth to the sopranos and altos or if a bass will come along to give us full, 4-part harmony to our band. April 4, 2016.
