Ring in the New Year with a bit of Stout Cake – The Cookbook Project

Keeping the kitchen alive one recipe at a time. January 1, 2017. Ring in the New Year with a bit of Stout Cake. Scroll down to see more content. I think this beer has a sense of humor. There is an infant on the label, and it is considered a breakfast stout. Now only soused people have beer for breakfast, amiright? The brand I used this time was by Founders. The ingredients in the beer consist of chocolate, coffee, and oatmeal which makes a lovely cake. The recipe is as follows:. 2 C all purpose flour.

Now you have me thinking…if she agreed to scan them and I copied and printed them maybe we could in turn pass them down to our own children? Liked by 1 person. December 5, 2016 at 11:55 pm. Keeping the kitchen alive one recipe at a time. December 5, 2016. The cookbook project may get a little crafty. With the start of this blog many moons ago, the idea behind it was to preserve my recipes to pass on to my children. My children are in the toddler stage and I dreamed up this idea when my daughter was born. Ideally I want to make a cookbook similarly like the one you buy … Continue reading the cookbook project may get a little crafty. November 27, 2016. November 23, 2016. November 13, 2016.

Woven berry basket block. October 14, 2016. A confession…I love leftovers, both food and fabric! They give me an opportunity to be creative, I feel virtuous for not being wasteful and sometimes they even save me a little time. Here are a few recent finishes that began as orphan blocks, trimmings or bits and pieces floating around the scrap bin and design wall. Some leftover strips became a table runner. I went to stay with my darling daughter last weekend and managed two visits to the V&A to see the Alexander McQueen ‘Savage Beauty’ exhibition. Quilting adventures, quilts for sale, custom quilting services. What is up with WordPress? January 9, 2017. January 9, 2017. OK, this is post number 2 for today for my email subscribers. En Provence clue 6? December 30, 2016. So we get to retire the dark purples and start using the light purples again, along with some neutrals and the introductions of greens. I chose a caribbean greenish blue for my quilt, it seems to work. Here is the start of my clue 6. Just snipping with a scissors the dog ears on the blocks :) . I am wondering if I should stop doing that because I am taking warmth out of the quilt? Thanks for stopping by! HoneyComb, Won’t You Be My Baby? December 31, 2016 at 2:57 am.

And the whole story behind this quilt. September 4, 2016. I promised you from a previous read that I would tell the story of this quilt. You see, I have made this for a couple who is expecting a baby and work directly with the father to be. We were doing some grueling work and had worked a bit of overtime and such and was told it was no longer a priority. So that work related project was pushed aside. September 5, 2016. September 6, 2016. So I quilted Mario to some retired Moda fabric that was in my stash. I decided since this was going to be cut up, I would tryout feathers in FMQing. Feathers are not as hard as they look and this is my first go round with that technique. (Thanks to youtube tutorials, I saw they did not have to be symmetrical or perfect to be feathers.). Here are the rows stitched and put back into order. Next was to make the perpendicular cuts for each puzzle piece. I used my...The c...
