The Oregon Trail: Kauai

http://oregontrail2011.blogspot.com/2014/05/kauai.html

Tess, Aaron, and Sagan take a trip across this perilous continent in the adventure of a lifetime. Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Tess and I went on a little vacation to Kauai. It was the first time for both of us in Hawaii, and it was an amazing vacation. Here are few things from the trip. Also see the 2 following posts, which cover our hike on the Kalalau Trail and a visit to Allerton Garden. We stayed at an AirBnB. Place on the first and last nights of the trip. The first night we stayed at this. We did a ve...

The Oregon Trail: May 2013

Tess, Aaron, and Sagan take a trip across this perilous continent in the adventure of a lifetime. Monday, May 13, 2013. My reel mower in its parking spot. For years I have been using a reel mower. To mow my lawn, and I love it! I find cutting grass with these silly machines to be far more fun, more rewarding, and a little Zen. So much so, that I thought I'd share a bit about them. Using a reel mower is kind of a lifestyle choice. If you feel you can kick the habit for a perfect lawn, you can also. I have...

Tess, Aaron, and Sagan take a trip across this perilous continent in the adventure of a lifetime. Sunday, March 24, 2013. Vancouver, BC and Snowshoeing. A few weekends ago we made our second trip to Vancouver, BC. The next morning we went to Cypress Mountain. Resort to do some snowshoeing with a whole crew of people. It turns out it was one of the resorts used in the 2010 Winter Olympics. For freestyle skiing and snowboarding. We have been out snowshoeing. View from the top! This is becoming a tradition ...

The Oregon Trail: The Kalalau Trail

http://oregontrail2011.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-kalalau-trail.html

Tess, Aaron, and Sagan take a trip across this perilous continent in the adventure of a lifetime. Wednesday, May 21, 2014. At the end of a very arduous and extremely treacherous 11 mile hike, there exists a utopian paradise the likes of which I have never experienced until Tess and I hiked the absolutely breathtaking (in more ways than one) Kalalau Trail. Along the Na Pali Coast. These plants are awesome. Look at that trail. Where does the trail go? There are a few helicopter landing spots for rescues.

The Oregon Trail: September 2014

http://oregontrail2011.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Tess, Aaron, and Sagan take a trip across this perilous continent in the adventure of a lifetime. Wednesday, September 10, 2014. My good friend Chris works for this really cool non-profit called KaBOOM! Which pairs communities in need of a playground, with funding partners, and then plans and oversees the building of a playground for that community. Each project is a massive undertaking which culminates in a 1-day fast-paced playground build, with hundreds of volunteers. Many hands make light work. 8220;...

Invent My Universe: Found

http://inventmyuniverse.blogspot.com/2012/09/found.html

25 September, 2012. I found this lovely little girl in the thrift store today in a frame that I purchased. I wonder where she is now. This picture has notes on the back about what the colors should be. Could you imagine having to manually add colors to your photographs? I love it when I find items with notes on them, especially books with inscriptions. It makes me feel connected. Have a wonderful day, I hope it includes bubbles ❤. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Invent My Universe: December 2012

http://inventmyuniverse.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

09 December, 2012. Satin stripes. Lots of satin stitched stripes. Three months ago I started this project and after weeks of working on it (and not working on it) it's finally complete! I find myself both ecstatic and deflated. On one hand I see all the little imperfections and ill spent stitches but on the other it is so gratifying to see the completion of an idea and pattern. Cheers! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

13 November, 2012. My camera has died, actually, it died a few posts ago and I have been using my phone's camera ever since. Therefore this blog may be infiltrated with more Instagram photos. Here goes one now. How much does a hipster weigh? An Instagram of course. So please forgive me for my square photos and in the meantime crochet this snowflake; the pattern can be found at Better Homes and Gardens. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Invent My Universe: November 2011

http://inventmyuniverse.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

29 November, 2011. Another favorite was a creation of my own, polymer clay bacon! Super quick, super easy, and in my opinion, pretty ingenious as clay food goes. Today I'll show you how to make your very own to give to the bacon lover in your life this holiday season. Red, burgundy, and white polymer clay. Something to roll the clay out, ex: rolling pin, pint glass. A straw or pen tube. Tip: Work with the white clay first since the red clay leaves red residue on your hands! Cut the length of bacon you wa...

Invent My Universe: The Many Faces of Discovery Park

http://inventmyuniverse.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-many-faces-of-discovery-park.html

25 September, 2012. The Many Faces of Discovery Park. This weekend I was able to experience another park of Seattle with Aaron and Sagan. This one may be my favorite yet. Discovery Park is a 534 acre public park with 11.8 miles of hiking trails and many beautiful faces. Located in the Magnolia neighborhood just 5 miles away from downtown Seattle it is quite the oasis. There were forests,. Bluffs, beaches,. And even a decommissioned lighthouse. It was a lovely place. Next time there will be a picnic.

Oregon Trail Venture Fund

The Oregon Trail Venture Fund is an investment fund for high-net-worth individuals. When pioneering souls embarked on their journey to the Oregon Country along the treacherous Oregon Trail they didn't know quite what to expect along the way or what they'd see when they arrived. They traveled because in the stories of the wondrous beauty of Oregon they expected tremendous new opportunities. The Oregon Trail Venture Fund takes its name from that trail and the potential opportunities it represented.

Sunday, May 12, 2013. I should live deliberately. Life is short, and it is precious. We should live it the best we can. Living the best we can requires identifying what we want to optimize for and then optimizing for it. The best way to optimize is to approach the problem deliberately. Living deliberately involves living in a prioritized way. We should identify what is most important to us, and then invest our resources towards those priorities in amounts relative to their importance. Optimizing happines...

Oregon Trail 2.0

Sunday, September 6, 2009. The Last Day on the Road. I think Molly got pictures, so hopefully she'll post those soon. Once we all chilled out we made a plan to stop at the next national park. The park we pulled into was breath taking. We drove for several miles on a dirt road until we found a little parking lot. The dogs had to stay in the car, but we got out and made our way down the trail. This is where we saw the giant trees we had been searching for. That's Jared and Matt:. We arrived at our new home...
